I went there every time before I left home for a long journey and after I got back whenever it is. It's where you have faith in something and make wishes for the family and yourself. Please do not take it as some places which wows you with something special, it's more about what you believe in the deep bottom of your heart which makes you peaceful and that's exactly how this temple means to people, plus this temple is built in Tang Dynasty between 860-870 AD and has a history of over 1300 years.

This is a tourist trap rather than a holy temple
I have been to a lot of temples around the world, some of them are right at the hustle and bustle of a city, but this is one so call temple that you cannot find any tranquility.
#33 bus will take you right to the main entrance. The temple is situation too close to the main road
And right away, you find two motor carts, one on each side, blocking the entrance, selling you drinks.
Again, of course, you have to climb a lot of stairs to get you there
There is also a railway track right at the front, under the brisge, it is a very busy track
The temple is still built based on the traditional Chinese temple forms, but with stairs, a lot of them. You get up and then you get down.
The complete the temple section
Now you get to the middle of the compound, with more straight up stairs leading to more buildings.
Then on the far end, with an admission fee, you see the rest of the characters, but by the time you finished the stairs at the temple and the middle section, you hardly have any energy left to do it. So if you like, you should do the far end first.
Unless it is your first time to see the temple, you can actually skip the temple section and the middle section

Sehr schöne Anlage. Freundliche Guides die sich viel Zeit nehmen.
Nur die Bananenverkäuferinnen sind etwas lästig.

Let me be clear, this place neither feels old, looks old or legit. However, be aware that as is the case with most things in China, it has been knocked down, rebuild, polished and turned into a local tourism hotspot.
The temple is nice enough, can be reached using the number 8, 38 or 27 bus from the town centre.
It is worth the morning and I did enjoy it... just don't complain that the place clearly isn't old and/ or historical.

An excellent variety of sights to see here. Easy to get to from the city centre, from memory the Number 33 bus is available or a taxi fare of around 2oRMB. Some steep walks, but worth the effort.
