We reached the Kanyakumari Bhagavathi Amman Temple, one of the 52 Shakti Peethas around 11:30am.
It is believed that the back spine area of Sati's corpse fell here creating the presence of Kundalini Shakti in the region.
For a small donation we were guarded around the temple and given Prasadam. Then at 11:45, before the temple closed, we were sitted on the floor in the front row to have the darshan of Devi Kanya Kumari
What to say? I had many Darshans in many temples, but this one was something special. So powerful and indescribable.
Of course, no photos were taking inside the temple.

The poojari's of the temple always behave rudely..they think of themselves as God's...I visited on Oct 23 evening and the Poojari's were just pushing away people and very rude attitude too..they don't now what politeness is...I have visited many temples in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, but never seen such behavior anywhere else ..I don't think anything is going to change after my post, as I see many bad comments about temple administration dating back to 2018...this is just for people planning to visit...keep 5 feet away from the temple Poojari's because you never know when they will come to you with a lighted lamp and push you backwards, when you never have any room to move backwards.

We arrived shortly after 6am, visited the temple for darshan, then continued to view the sunrise and dip into the ghats.
Many shops inside the temple area opened once the sun had risen, and crippled beggars turned up. The atmosphere was less commercial before sunrise.
The place was crowded, with many people taking photos and videos of the sunrise and the view.

This temple is near tri junction of three seas.
An excellent ancient Devi temple of Goddess Parvathi.
Gents must remove upper cloths (Bare chest) while having darshanam.

Hi,
Am from chennai i would visit Mandaikadu Bhagavathy Amman Temple on 05.03.2021
Pls guide me better, point wise for clarity, in your free time.
1) Mandaikadu temple opening timings in evening for this kodai season, for Friday 05.3.2021.
2) Approximate timings to reach Mandaikadu from Vadacheri bus stand on 05.03.2021.
3) Do we have regular bus from Mandaikadu to Nagercoil vadaseri.
4) Does bus stop close to temple for this season.
5) Is there any traffic diversion for this kodai seaon especially on 05.03.2021
6) Whether temple would be open throughout for this day 05.03.2021 as there is mahapuja.
7) Finally, how much of reserve time should i maintain from Mandaikadu to catch my return train from Nagercoil on 05.3.2021 by 710pm (i can reach mandaikadu by 330 pm), given the crowd.
Any suggestions also welcome.
Thanks,
Srinivas

01. Temple opens at 5.00 am in the morning and closes at 1.00 pm in the afternoon.
Evening 5.00 pm to 9.00 pm.
02. From vadaserry, only a few buses are available. You have to go to Anna Bus stand to go to the temple.
(My better opinion is to get a cab- for 4 hours they charge around 740 rupees including Driver Bata and for 70 KMS distance. This is my opinion. The final decision is up to you sir).
03. No only few buses.. only from Anna bus stand there are many buses..
04. Just a walkable distance if you come by bus.. (around 200-300 meters)
05. No chance. But it depends on the crowd on that particular day.
06. Reliable sources confirm that this will not be done due to Corona..
07. It takes about 1.15 hours to reach Nagerkoil junction if you come by cab (considering the traffic due to festival and evening town traffic in Nagerkoil)
My personal opinion is to take a cab on hourly basis so that it would be a tension free Darshan in the temple.
The Decision is up to you to make sir..
Decide with your family and plan your trip..
If there is any update let me inform you sir..

There are so many good things to see in Kanyakumari temple. The temple staff behavior is really very bad. They take money from the each visitor 20Rs. per head. Is it the good attitude to take directly from the devotees ?? People definitely will donate the money, much more than they expected, if they exit from such lusty behavior. There are so many temples in India. Nowhere such rediculos behavior I never seen. They should offer different archanas to the God from the devotees.... People happily accept that. But this kind of entrance fees nowhere accepted. Rascals....!!!

Yes, it is true, all are happening in the collaboration of HR&CE officials and greedy priests. The image gone down like any thing. It is the right move that the centre free the temples from the hands of politicians and greedy officials they looted like anything. It is happening in most of the temples where the visitors are frequent and people never want to wait and offer prayers. they utilize the behavior.
