Les fonds marins semblent avoir été quelque peu négligés : piétinement et nombreux bateaux. Mais il est facile d'entrer dans l'eau et les poissons exotiques sont toujours présents.Warungs agréables sur la plage.

I decided to use Blue Star Bungalows as my base as they have many positive reviews online as well as travel blogs. This was a good decision as they are well equipped with all the snorkel gear and life vests. Service was excellent.
The snorkelling was excellent also. I had thought all the great reviews online must hold some weight. Certainly not perfect but plenty of different corals and many different species of fish and blue starfish. I've snorkeled many locations around SEA and I'll give this location 8 out of 10. No need to pay money for a boat trip because you just snorkel straight off the beach here. Another plus was I never saw any trash on the beach or in the water.

At the moment the beach is very dirty, report our guests. Certainly this is partly caused by the storm that we have in the rainseason but nevertheless we cannot advice our guests to visist this beach for snorkeling. A pity that nobody takes the initiative to clean up the place.

Plage de sable noire très tranquille. Très beau snorkelling au départ de la plage sur la droite, plein de poissons et de coraux. Qq sculptures et morceaux de temple à voir. Pleins de chaises longues gratuites si vous consommez à boire ou à manger, de nb pêcheurs proposent une sortie snorkelling. À marée haute, très peu de sable et bcp de bateaux.

I love Jemuluk. As a snorkeller, it is so easy to swim the short distance to any of the reefs. Free divers also enjoy the reefs. Restaurants along the beach provide sunbeds as long as you buy something as small as a drink. The sand is black and pebbly in parts so wear reef shoes. You will get asked if you want to buy a sarong or have a massage but I never feel pressured and this is just life in Bali. There is very little rubbish and you can make a difference by picking up any you see and putting it in a bin.

Jemeluk beach is located at the heart of Amed area, east coast side of the island.
This area indeed is a quiet place loved by travelers. The jemeluk bay is also one of the best snorkeling spot in the region.
In jemeluk bay, the reef drop-off it home to gorgeous coral formations and fish for every color of the rainbow, and it can be accessed directly from the beach.
No need to hire the boat (no need to waste your money). you could swim a bit, and you will see the beauty of underwater.
Over all, Jemeluk beach is a good place to enjoy the day.

This is the best beach in Amed for snorkelling. There are lots of warungs/restaurants to choose from if you wish to eat and drink. Unlike some other beaches, this is easy to access and a simple walk in from the sand to swim snorkel or kayak etc. if you like snorkelling, you should give it a try.

Hi everybody!
Last year in July, before the big earthquake in Lombok, a big tide had affected Amed area and we could barely stay on sunbeds in the warungs in Jemeluk Bay and snorkeling was not so good due to sandy water.
Anyone has been there recently? Are the warungs still providing sunbeds? How is snorkeling?

Its very easy! All the main road is at the same level as the beach, dont worry about being acompaigned with an 80 yo woman, indonesian people are also very kind and helpful. You will enjoy too much Amed!

yup offcourse you can do what you want to do by your self ...but more safety if there is one friend or local guide to walk with u ,...because in bali if you dont know the area it's very dangerous to walk alone.

How much to rent a lounge chair on Jemuluk Beach? We want someone to look after our stuff while we snorkel. We are hopeless at haggling!

Not sure if there are deck chairs there to hire, over the last three years we have left our gear outside or just inside the warang's on the beach with no problems. The staff at Warang Bali and the Rasta bar were always friendly and helpful. There is a freshwater shower outside too.

When we caught a Freebird Express ferry from Gili T, it dropped us off at the south end of the beach.
If you're on a commercial ferry or cruise ship, there'll be local taxi drivers wherever you land, just don't be afraid to haggle a bit :)

Maaf, Bahasa Indonesia kurang baik, tetapi kebanyakan rumah makan / warung di Amed memasak makanan Indonesia. berberapa hotelnya ada mi goreng, nasi goreng atau bubur. Lebih baik kalau menanya pertanyaan kepada setiap hotel yang suka?

We stayed at Bali Sari Homestay, only 1km from Jemeluk bay. Walked, push biked and scootered to there regularly over 3 weeks. Loved the place, fantastic family who took very good care of us, but were never intrusive. Rooms immaculate & cleaned daily and breakfast included.
