This is a popular (among locals) view point at the highest village in the country.
This was our second visit. When we visited last year there was construction on going which has now been completed.
There is a three storey building now with the rooftop acting as a look out point. Things were still a bit chaotic but from what I understood, you need a ticket (LKR 300 per person) to get right to the top. Otherwise you can still get upto the view point in the 1st floor without any ticket. ( You still get the same view. The different would be that the higher you go, you can avoid all the electricity lines in taking photos). But I wish they had constructed a couple more floors for a better experience.
There is a place where you can have outside food in the ground floor, a barista in the first floor (was thrilled to find they had all my favorites) and another tea place in the second floor. There were also some shops outside the main building selling more affordable food options.
Didnt see any washrooms. May be they are still under construciton. There was parking at the premises. But it was a holiday and the access road was already packed with vehicles. So we assumed that parking would be a problem and parked a litte further away .... only to find there were still parking slots available inside the premises.... (Access road upto the turnoff is wide and in very good condition. But once you turn off to the view point road it gets very narrow).
Overall verdict: The place does offer a nice view. But there are also lot of other places that provide similar views... the access road is narrow, so on holidays the place can get really crowded and you may end up getting stuck in traffic jams.... but the barista is a jem of a find as there are very few coffee shops in Nuwara Eliya and I would highly recommend their food and drinks.

seems its not worth to go there and view is blocking by other constructions ongoing in front of the place, climate is cool and im not recommend to go there if you have limited time to explore other locations.

Shanthipura is the highest situated village in Sri Lanka in terms of altitude. And there is a particular point termed as "Shanthipura view point" from where you can get a bird's eye view of the Nuwara Eliya town and the surrounding mountains.
But there is currently a construction being done there, by the Airforce which is supposed to be a look out point/tower kind of thing and if I heard it correctly, it's going to be 4-5 stories high. This is supposed to open somewhere in 2025. If my understanding of the height of the building is correct it will offer a spectacular experience. But right now, it's a rather less than average experience.
The google map directions are accurate. Its very close to Nuwara Eloya town. The Shanthipura road is quite wide and two SUVs can easily pass. However,at the last bit, you have to go down a narrower road and parking can be an issue if you go on a crowded day.
While there is a board saying the view point is closed, they have kept a small foot path around the construction and you can still see the Nuwara Eliya town by going down this circular footpath even though you may not be able to take a nice photo because of the houses and the electricity lines.
The weather there was cooler than in Nuwara Eliya and it was quite windy.
But overall, I would recommend to wait till the construction is completed.

This is the highest point who can view around the hills in Nuwaraeliya. The point located in Shanthipura which far away from the city. Anyone can easily view following locations from the point as well. Specially can see Piduruthalagala mountain forest, Radella Radio transmission hill, Gregory Lake, Haggala mountains, Seven virgins mountains and Sri phadha Mount Peak as well.

Очень красивая местность, все утопает в растительности. Пейзажи вокруг потрясающе красивые, а какие цветы.

In Sri Lanka we have got a view point not many are aware of it. It is at Shanthipura Nuwara Eliya. It’s in Kandy Nuwara Eliya road just 7.9 km from Nuwara Eliya towards Kandy side. You have to cut away from the main road and climb a hill. Boards are there to guide the route. Place is open for the public from 9 am to 6 pm. From there you can see the whole Nuwara Eliya town. Make sure you don’t go on a misty day then you won’t be able to see. The site is more spectacular in the night but unfortunately it’s closed at night. It’s a place one should go.

In your eyes it would be Imposing Pidurutalagala..Turn back to see the majestic Adams Peak in the distance .Right and left there are others ,from Kikiliyamana to Hakgala . The winding road that takes the traveller up above 1300 ft from NuwaraEliya town is a treat itself. Plan your arrival for the afternoon when the sun is milder the moment wont fail you. Take some extra time to take a look at the tiny plateau which infact houses the highest village in Srilnaka. Not a place for the those in a hurry to rush to the next tick in the itinerary . Well worth it for those who have one hour plus to soak in the village and the mountains

You can reach the Shanthipura View Point by taking the Shanthipura bus from Nuwara-eliya main bus stand. It's a 15 minute walk away from the bus stop.
They have put up boards so it's not very hard to find. The entrance fee is Rs.40 per person. I was not much impressed with the view though I managed to get some pictures which are mostly of flowers. Most of the view is blocked by the adjoining houses in the area.
Visit the view point if you are in the area or else it is not much worth the effort to go all the way up.

Whilst I would not dispute the stunning scenery at Shantipura, there is absolutely no need to pay to climb a few steps up a concrete viewpoint to see the exact view you can see on the road up. It's yet another tourist trap in a country where tourist exploitation has become something of a national pastime. By all means walk up the hill, but forget about the viewpoint.
