The drama is very good. The facility is beautiful. The actors were very talented. Snacks were delicious!
The only negative is the sound. We had a handicapped person in our group. In order to be near them we chose seats near the top of the theater where handicapped seating is located. It was very difficult to hear and I have no hearing issues.
So, I recommend sitting close to the stage area, especially if someone has hearing problems.
I wish they could upgrade the sound system.

Show was worth while seeing, but when it says rain insurance is included in the ticket price that isn't correct. You pay for the seat ticket and an extra $5 rain fee is added on. We bought our tickets at the box office (a lot of available seats, had checked on line)so we didn't have to pay for order processing fee on line. You could hear the actors, at time gun fighting was loud along with the cannons. We did enjoy the show.

Wonderful show! We were seated in row M, center seats. But honestly, I think all of the seat options are great. There are things that happen to the right and left of you. So if your seats are closer to the stage. You may have to turn around. We went as a family. My youngest is 12 y/o. I think this was a great age to bring her. She was completely enthralled. Especially since we live in the area that these events originally took place. The outdoor stage and the mostly natural set really draws you in. Actors could be heard clearly, and the horses are well trained and healthy. The only warning I have is if you have a sound sensitivity. There are rifles and cannons that are fired. All blanks of course, but it's still really loud and can catch you by surprise.

Was hard to get into when the actors looked nothing like a Shawnee. The one actor stood out drastically because he was as white as a piece of paper, they also had women playing part of man. We went July 4 th for military appreciation. Was extremely loud with gun fighting and so on . If you have ptsd do not got to this show. It will set it off. There was a gentleman there same night whose ptsd was set off. Also make sure children have hearing protection. Would be nice to have hearing protection for adults as well. Very loud explosions. Also not enough seats for people with disabilities. Need way more accessible seating. Some people with disabilities didn’t get accessible seating, others got seating for just the disabled person, I had to sit by myself, others got a few family members sitting with them. Again not nearly enough seating for those with mobility issues. Out of 1600 seats maybe 20 were available for mobility challenge.

The original play from years ago was way better than it is now with the changes. Im not sure if they are trying to be diverse or what, but there should not have been women in acting roles that were men during that era. I think it should be portrayed as accurate as possible to the time. Everyone did a a great job it just seemed odd having them in those roles. If you want to fill the Amphitheatre keep it as authentic as possible to the time. I would hate for this performance to go away, it has been loved for years by so many.

The performance was very good and the young man playing Tecumseh on August 16, 2023 was extremely good - no problem hearing his lines and it was easy to forget he was an actor. I only gave 4 out of 5 because I was horrified to see the condition of the horses in this performance. Most of the horses had a body score of 3 and the palomino could even be a 2. Horses should have a body score between 4 and 6 with 5 being ideal. In other words, the horses are way too thin. They have prominent withers and I could see every bone in their body. While I understand an older horse can have trouble keeping weight, that does not account for almost all the horses except one or two being sadly thin. Please review the feeding program and get these animals, who are incredibly well behaved, proper nutrition. They are themselves, stars of the show!

It's been several years since my wife and I visited the Chillicothe Ohio production of Tecumseh. On this particular weekend in August, we were looking for something "unique" to entertain our grandson (age 8). Something we remembered from past experiences as both captivating and educational. For an outdoor drama, the current ticket prices seemed in alignment with everything else nowadays. The VIP experience seemed like an attempt at subtly capturing more revenue without much in return. Concessions this time reminded us more of a drive-in theater environment. The best seats are those in the middle halfway up. We were disappointed with our visit this time. Like everything else, the folks at Tecumseh have allowed alcohol sales at concessions. We spent the first 25 minutes of the show dealing with a young woman beside us who was drinking beer and couldn't stop laughing at both the performers or those around her. (You KNOW who you are/were if you're reading this) We agree with Dora. The characters in the production didn't seem "into it,"and the young man playing Tecumseh wasn't that great. Instead of the main characters shouting to be heard by the audience, perhaps an investment in wireless microphones might be a consideration. Restroom cleanliness was marginal needing updates SOON. We left at intermission with no incentive to watch the second half. The outdoor drama of Tecumseh is NOT as good as in past years.

The scenery was beautiful and the weather was perfect. I have seen Tecumseh many times but this was my least favorite cast. I didn’t care for the actor that played Tecumseh, he didn’t have the command of respect of previous Tecumsehs and his voice didn’t project. I had trouble hearing many of the actors.

The drama was cancelled due to weather on Thursday night so we had to stay over for Friday night. It was worth the delay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating in getting our tickets transferred to the next night. Suggest the main actors wear mikes. For the main part sound was good but even I, having good hearing, had difficulty hearing actors on far side of stage.
Next time we will try to be seated in central section so maybe sound will be more balanced. It is definitely worth the drive.

The story line is built around Tecumseh, one of the greatest leaders. It's a beautiful OUTDOOR Amphitheatre. Professional actors/actress's with live horses galloping through. Nice comfortable seating. And a GREAT symphonic quality sound system to hear a beautiful music score. It's SO refreshing to not have to be in the typical movie theatre sound setting with a booming annoying distorted bass score covering up the voices. The staff was GREAT. I have a wife in a mobility scooter and easy access from the parking lot. It really is a very nice setting too. They even have trails to hike and theme based activities to do. They have a snack bar and YES, you can get a beer. To me it's an excellent value and you can also feel like you're helping local-based theatre actors/actress's. BONUS: Nearby you can visit the nearby National Park Hopewell Mounds.

In my group there are several people who have trouble walking long distance. Is there a shuttle or easy access parking so there is not a lot of walking?

This is on Sleepy Hollow. I get there at 6 check in I have a VIP pass so I paid $50.00 ticket with fees and tax. There was 2 of us that showed up . We ask where the escape room line will be and a nice lady told us at the box office. Then to make sure were in the right place I ask a man that is walking around telling people things on radio. Or then a LADY come and start talking to people. My husband and I are standing there and she doesnt want to let us in she wanted group of 6 and 7. I told her I was there in line and she said there is no line. Boy did I get mad. I told her I was there since 6 you can't get in till 7 she told me I could come back and go through later for it was open all night . Then I really got mad and told her. I was not gone to leave and come back . so she finely let us go in first. the other 3 people that was there waiting in line in front of us got pissed and left.
Then the show started of ok then they had us get up and walk around the pound. why they sung on platform on the water . could not here that well. Then we went to a pallet Bridge and there they have you go in the sides. know you can't see or hear the show at all I was in the back row and couldn't see a darn thing so I watch the av guy behind in a tent. I was gone to show him a thumbs down but he never look my way. We were so mad we did not stay for the walk in the woods . Show was not worth $100.00 dollar for 2 people drove 1'45 min. to get there what a waist of money and time. Will be long time till I go back. You would think after all the thing that goes on there they would have the bugs worked out but they don't.

This certainly wasn’t our experience. We had a great time, and I think we were there on the same night. I would call and let them know that you were unhappy and see if they could fix it for you.

I do not know if tickets can be purchased on the night of the show. You do risk the chance of the show being sold out. They recommend purchasing tickets at least a week in advance. We purchased ours 3 days prior because of the possibility of rainy weather. The ticket office does open at 3pm if you want to take the chance of getting tickets on the night of the show.

Hello, we are going to attend the performance this Wed 7/4/18. I understand the sweet spot for viewing is center Rows D-J but since we are last minute there aren't seats for 5 in that area. There are seats available on the side in row H or in the center row L. Which area would be the best for viewing/hearing? My kids are teens so no worries about being close to noise, horses, actors, etc. Thanks!
