The park is nice and worth a visit. Nice views, nice waterfalls and you can see the surrounding volcanos and the Pacific. Our guide gave us a nice tour.
But be aware of Imposible Tours (Mama y Papa hostel), as we think that they scam you and the guide they hire for you. They charge high prices, way higher than our Lonely Planet suggested, and tell you that about 40-45% of it will go to your guide. We highly doubt that is the case, because the owner and organizer of the tour asked the guide to come out of our sight to get paid. We assume so we wouldn't see how much he actually received. By the way, the owner is a rich owner of a local Finca and just drove us to the park, the guide on the other hand did most of the work.
Be careful who you hire for your tour if you want that local people in need get the profit they deserve for their hard work.

Fantastic tour of this incredible national park. The folks at El Salvatours based in Concepcion de Ataco are professional, responsive and super friendly.

La Reserva Natural Bosque El Imposible es un lugar de naturaleza virgen, hoja caduca y de difícil acceso. La entrada por la carretera principal del lado de la Chadura es de terracería y pedazos de calle de piedras, esta poblado todo el trayecto. Cuenta con el servicio de guías previamente contactado. El costo es de $3.00 para salvadoreños el servicio de guías es cuota voluntaria. son aproximadamente 7 kilómetros el trayecto. El nivel de la caminata es para expertos y aventureros, cuenta con dos miradores, El Mulo y uno más pequeño la vista del primer mirador es impresionante, al llegar al segundo mirador esta la opción de bajar por la zona hasta el precipicio llegando a un bosque muy denso con un camino escabroso, inhóspito, es una aventura garantizada únicamente para los que gustan los retos y el senderismo extremo, NIVEL de dificultad 10, hay que llevar suficiente agua y algunas galletas, alimentos porque el descenso es agotador, pero muchísimo más cansada es el ascenso. sea que se haga por cualquiera de las dos rutas que el guia indique. Al final de la caminata se encuentra un río con aguas cristalinas muy bello. Su gente es muy amable y gentil. NO lo recomiendo para principiantes o gente con problemas de salud. Es una caminata extremadamente cansada No la recomiendo para parejas porque no tiene nada de romántico es agotador y no hay mucho que observar en cuanto a miradores, pájaros o flores (Flora y fauna), en verano hace calor.

Es un lugar ideal para los amantes del senderismo, hay varias rutas para practicarlo de mayor a menor intensidad, se puede apreciar vegetación propia de un bosque nebuloso y para los admiradores de las orquideas pueden visitar el bosque de los 100 años en donde hay una gran variedad de estas hermosas flores. Hay que solicitar permisos para poder ingresar.

Nos fuimos al Bosque El Imposible por el lado de Tacuba, Ahuachapan y descubrimos un nuevo mundo natural lleno de verdes intensos con vistas preciosas, aguas cristalinas y sonidos de la naturaleza extraños, diferentes y que invitan a guardar silencio para poder sentir toda la vida que hayan dentro de este inmenso bosque.
Recomendadísimo para los Aventureros con excelente condición física.

Si lo que buscas es un retiro del mundanal ruido te recomiendo visites el Parque Natural El Imposible ubicado en el trifinio (Frontera: Guatemala, Honduras y El Salvador) dónde encontrarás un ambiente selvático, con lluvia permanente (Eso se logra caminando por veredas hasta llegar al mojón del trifinio), hay animales silvestres, mucha vegetación, muchas flores, muchas vistas panorámicas. Dejó la idea para que usted tome la decisión. Dios bendiga a El Salvador!!!

Ha sido el mejor tour que he hecho en El Salvador! William es un guía increíble, conoce muy bien la zona y a parte de mucha diversión, nadar y tirarse de muchas cascadas, pueden aprender mucho sobre la medicina tradicional, la cultura y las tradiciones de este país. This was definitely the best hike we ever did. It was tough but the feeling after is amazing. William was a very good guide who let us feel safe and talked with us about several things. We booked via hostal papa y mama in tacuba. Which we also recommend as a place to stay.

Hey Chuck,
My girlfriend and I are trying to book a tour for the waterfalls and the email keeps coming back undeliverable and when I try to search for the hostel, it will not come up. Do you have another address I could get a hold of them by? Sounds wonderful and we would really like to go there. By the way, how did you get there to that location, private transport or local?

I would try calling Imposible tours at (00 503) 2417 42 68 - Tacuba, El Salvador. It is a great trip. I was their with a church youth group so the church arranged our transpotation, but some of the other travelers on the tour with us just used the bus system to get there. Sorry it took so long for me to answer.
