Every year, we come to NOLA with our photo workshops, and every year, we make a point of visiting A Gallery and the expert explanations and commentary of Edward (please forgive me if I have your name incorrectly noted) to further educate our participants. The collection of fine-art photography at A Gallery is phenominal, from Atget to Cartier-Bresson, to Salgado, to Abbott to to to to,

This year, our group found two of the featured artists, Keith Carter and Josephine Sacabo particularly interesting, along with all the historical work. In face, one of our participants bought one of Sacabo's pieces that spoke to him.

This is a must stop for any lover/student of fine-art photography. You will not be disappointed. And thank you to Edward who always graciously welcomes us.

Finally wandered into this gallery after passing it by in past visits. It closes earlier than many of the galleries in the French Quarter, so get in during the afternoon. The collection is really cool but my wife and I found the curator somewhat aloof (read stuffy). That was the difference between 4 stars and 5 stars. The collection was way way out of our budget but it's a cool place to wander through and check out.

This place is amazing!!! Edward gave us a sime tour of the place and he and I chatted about the different artists and works hanging. I think he was a little shocked..in a good way.. about that fact I recognized "A decisive moment". There were famous and not so famous artist which made each turn interesting. It is not set up like a big room but different corners and turns of loveliness. Though Edward is a painter he has been at this gallery for 20 plus years and us very knowledgeable about photography. All I can say is that it is different.. and unlike the photo galleries on Jackson Square that show mainly and only the owners own work..there are artists from all over the world represented there. And not just 1or 2 but quite a few to keep your interest. There are photography books for sale as well. I did not meet the owner but Edward was very nice and answered all of my questions. A must see while in New Orleans.

This gallery houses world-class photography that has been raised to an exceptional art form. Inherent to this elevation, many pieces are in the 5-digit price range. Regardless of whether you are a serious collector or appreciate works typically found in fine arts museums, this gallery is worth a visit.

This is a gallery like there used to be before the art business overtook the joy of viewing and collecting photography. The gallery displays a broad range of photography from the early (1860s) to the present, black and white and color. The owner and staff are welcoming. A must-see for collectors visiting NOLA.

Original photographs that I thought I would have never seen, like Henri Cartier Bresson, Sebastião Salgado, and others!

This is an amazing gallery, a bit more like a small museum really. They have an excellent (evolving) selection of photographs, which are arranged to increase whatever impact the artist aimed for. The person working in the gallery in very nice and accommodating (I am pretty sure I and my friend stayed a bit beyond closing time) as well as very knowledgeable. We were grateful for some tips about other photography exhibits to see around town.

The gallery appears unassuming on the exterior. The interior is full of photography history known to those who are students of the art, and lovers of fine photography - original prints by the masters. If you are or have been a student of photography, and love it as an art, it is worth the pilgrimage to New Orleans to see this collection.

Very impressive inventory! I visit the gallery every time I visit New Orleans. Very helpful folks - very willing to help educate customers with no sales pressure. If you have any interest in purchasing fine photography, and want to learn more before you do, this is a great gallery to visit.
