Symphony Hall is a classy place for a concert. We've been to a number of concerts here over the years and always have had a good time. (Most recently the band America 1/26/20) Its intimate (1,700 sears), all seats have good sight lines and the acoustics are great. My only gripe is that there is no center aisle. So if you are seated in the center of the row, get there a little early and plan on staying in your seat for the duration.

If you pre-buy your parking in the Art Center deck online its $27 (including a service fee) and guarantees you a spot.
But valet is $26 the night of the show. There is also plenty of parking nearby. The area is busy, well lit and is as safe as anywhere intown. If you are going green the Art Center Marta Station is right there.

We attended the Bela Fleck and the Flecktones concert in Symphony Hall last night, the night before Thanksgiving. We had excellent, close seats in the center; the sound was very good, as was the lighting. Seating is very comfortable on the main floor. Symphony Hall was decorated inside and out with lighted wreaths, lighted Christmas trees, and ornaments in blue and silver.

The larger area of Woodruff Arts Center was also nicely decorated with a huge lighted Christmas tree in the main area. We spent some time as we usually do in the upper lounge area. We are subscribers to the Symphony and know the Center and Symphony Hall quite well. The only annoying part of our evening was when we walked in prior to the concert, one of the ushers/security stepped in front of me to show me where my seat was. I told him where they were and walked around him. We knew EXACTLY where the seats were, we certainly didn’t need to stand there and hold up the people behind us! It was 8 minutes to the start of the concert and the bell had just been rung.

The concert itself was outstanding! Now we know why they are jazz legends. Subtracting the approximate 15 minute intermission, they played for about 2 1/2 hours.

We attended the YES 50th Anniversary Tour concert here, the version of YES with Steve Howe. It was July of 2018 and hot outside. Inside it was cool and nice.

Symphony Hall is a gorgeous venue to see anybody, but the more mature audience for YES was appreciative of the space. Great acoustics, good seats. It was easy to hear Steve Howe's guitar solos and the sound people really didn't need to up the volume to overcome the venue.

We are subscribers to the Atlanta Symphony so we are here frequently; it was annoying to have this concert's ushers jumping out in front of us to tell us where to go. Really different from the ushers that work the ASO concerts. It would've been more relaxing to just let us go to our seats.

Also, the women's bathroom on the main floor is painfully small. Some of our subscriber dollars should be going toward making a larger one on the main floor.

A 12 acre site on the Peachtree Street that houses four visual and performing art centers: High Museum, Alliance, Atlanta Art School and Atlanta Symphony. Beautiful inside and out. Endowed by Robert Woodruff and others. They are all first class and award winning. Last attendance was to Atlanta a Symphony with on stage concert. World Events statue by Tony Cragg was installed by side entrance for 1996 Atlanta Olympics. See photos once posted.

My husband and I went to the ASO's Scheherezade concert here. As always, this is a comfortable, elegant backdrop for the orchestra. Seats are a good size, although you frequently have to wait a long time to get out of your row at Intermission.

The entire premises and bathrooms are very clean. And speaking of bathrooms, the women's room on the main floor needs to be remodeled and EXPANDED. It is difficult with the crowds to go galloping up the stairs to the upper one just so you can make it back to your seat in 15 minutes. That needs to be fixed.

The gift shop is TINY but loaded with cool stuff. We have purchased gifts there, and I have received jeweled pins from there as gifts!

A wonderful educational and entertainment center on Peachtree Street in Midtown Atlanta. It includes classic offerings from art to plays and symphony. We just enjoyed the Black Violin Concert. It is decorated for Christmas inside and out. See pictures.

We went to the John McLaughlin concert here right before the holidays. The venue was beautifully decorated with a very large Christmas tree in the center. We have been here for many concerts but the Center seemed particularly attractive on this evening.

The venue itself is very open and airy with large staircases (and elevators) to the balcony level. There is seating in groups on the main floor and there are always three bars on the main level and 1 or 2 on the balcony level. There are two tiny women's bathrooms on the main level and one large one on the balcony level. The Center is always quite clean.

We always have tickets on the main floor, generally within four rows from the stage so it is slow going out of the venue at intermission. With a popular artist, one can escape a little faster than with the symphony. Also, with popular artists, there are bag checks at the entrance to Symphony Hall that can take quite awhile. Plan ahead and get there early; if you are a woman, bring a wristlet or other small bag. It's a lot faster!

The only thing to work on that I can think of is that for popular artist concerts the ushers assume you have never been to Symphony Hall before. They are very obnoxious about stopping you to tell you where to go! Please just be very available and friendly for people who need help, DO NOT aggressively stand in front of people when they are going to their seats. Even though we live out of state we are subscribers to the Atlanta Symphony and have the seating chart memorized.
