We were wowed! Initially, I thought this museum would be small, judging by the outside, but it had many displays and lots of educational hands on experiences!

A unique and superb museum, how great it is to find an airline so proud of it’s rich heritage and still looking towards the future.
As a fan of the the Queen of the Skies, I couldn’t wait to visit Delta’s 747-400, the very first one off the production line.
This did not disappoint, the level of care and thought that has gone into this is unbelievable. Glass floors look into the holds, the rear bulkhead is visible and to top it all you can walk on the wing above the right engines.
Other wonderful exhibits are on display both inside and outside of the hangar.
Thank you also to the Delta staff who made us feel so welcome.

Excellent history of both Delta and commercial aviation. A very worthwhile experience. Great location inside the vintage Delta hangers at the Atlanta Airport on the Delta corporate campus. They just need to add a Convair 540 and 727 outside. Would be nice if they restore the interior of the DC7 with the sky lounge. A lot of this museum is the hard work of volunteers who are former Delta team members which makes it unique. Ugar Hazy museum at Dulles in DC is another excellent aviation museum.

Great museum for aviation buffs. Planes are generally accessible and very well maintained. Highly recommended. For really serious fans - a hour in the flight simulator is a must. Paul Talbott was my aim operator and he is a wealth of Delta knowledge - funny, too!

If you are a lover of commercial aviation, you cannot miss this museum. While it is not a large museum, it has history, memorabilia, and aircraft.

This trip had been on our bucket lists for years and did not disappoint.

Friendly staff and spotlessly clean. We even got to meet a retired 767 pilot who was on duty in the 747 outside.
We had planned a visit here before our flight home to the UK and ended up staying 2/3hr.

This place was very clean. Delta did an awesome job. I did the flight simulator which I highly recommend. It’s the only one that’s open to the public in the US that moves around and feels like the real thing. It was awesome and I’ll never forget the experience. You can feel the takeoff and has the real cockpit with buttons and all. I knew what I was doing so I could fly easily. There’s many displays. Outside there’s the Delta DC-7, DC-9, Boeing 757-200, and the Boeing 747-400 which you can open things so don’t be afraid to push buttons and go in the gallery and just explore the plane. Inside is many planes including the Sprit of Delta Boeing 767-200 which my grandmother actually flew on and saw it personally in Orlando. There’s also a shiny DC-3, and part of a Lockheed L-1011. There’s several displays of the outfits over the years. There’s also a theater about the history of Delta that was interesting. There’s a room with a bunch of Delta models which was cool. I actually flew into Atlanta to see this museum and it was well worth it. I highly recommend this museum. It’s great for families to explore. I saw lots of kids and they were excited. Don’t forget to go to the Delta museum store. I bought a bunch of stuff.

Amazing museum you could spend hours inside.
Very well laid out museum regarding Delta's history from crop dust to prop era, into jet age. Also mention the consolidation of various airlines and merger of Northwest.
One of the best exhibits I've experienced, especially in the recent jet era, with 767 inside the hanger, 747-400 outside with its unique exhibit, and dormant DC-9-50.

This is a great multi-generational place to take the entire family. We have all ages to entertain over the Christmas holidays and this was enjoyed by everyone. The exhibits are interesting and presented nicely. The airplanes are exhibited showing working parts. Everyone enjoyed this visit.

We signed up for the Boeing 737 Flight Simulator session at the Delta Flight Museum. It's a flat fee and you can bring a total of four people (over 16 years old). A retired pilot, Rudy took us into the simulator and had my husband sit in the pilot's seat while he explained all the buttons, knobs, etc. Our family of four "took off" from Atlanta and flew to Birmingham in a moderate rainstorm. With Rudy's help, my husband "landed" the plane. He even had my husband taxi to the gate which is done by controlling the floor pedals instead of the steering wheel. Rudy was very patient and had my husband try a few more landings in Birmingham and then Atlanta. The rest of us enjoyed the experience and it really did seem like we were in the air for the one-hour session. This is a great birthday present!

The Delta Flight Museum costs $12.50 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $7 for youth. If you have Delta or military ID, then it's free. There's not much to do around the airport area, but the Porsche Experience is nearby, and you could always take Marta up to the Arts Center station to visit the High Museum of Art.

Very quick cab ride. 2 hrs is plenty of time. They even have a delta kiosk to reprint boarding passes if necessary. Security in ATL can be a bear so keep that in mind
