Great enclosures for the inhabitants. All inhabitants looked well cared for and happy. Could see some of the animals very close up. The safari tour was very informative.

The animals seem to be treated ok at least. But you should go see them in an AZA-accredited zoo instead, where your money goes further in species research and conservation

Out of Africa was an amazing experience! We went on a Friday and actually got to see them feed the Lions, Tigers & Hyenas! The park staff was friendly and answered all of our questions & the Safari Tour was unbelievable as we were able to feed the Giraffes! The Zebras were beautiful & came right up to the tour bus and all of the horned animals were unique. The most exiting part was Tiger Splash and seeing the full grown Lions. What shocked us was there were no bothersome flies or awful smells while we ate at picnic tables within view of the animals. This experience is way better than a zoo where I leave feeling sorry for some of the animals. These animals have really nice habitats and you can see they are well cared for. So neat seeing them up close and personal! It’s a great stop right on the way to Sedona from Phoenix! You won’t regret it.

Wife and I absolutely enjoyed the park, We paid for the expedition passport , and it did not disappoint. We fed tigers and giraffes. Toured the park in the super mog vehicle. Learned a lot about the animals and had a great time. Highly recommended

We enjoyed the Tiger Splash. The day was too hot to spend much time seeing the animals. Misting stations helped us cool down in several areas, but it was quite a distance to more cool drinking water when our bottles ran empty. Our shuttle driver was great, personable and funny.

Great tour of the wildlife park with lots of info from the guides about all the animals. Fun being up close and able to feed the giraffe and see the zebras. Due to the heat, not able to view some of the wildlife. Definitely worth the trip. Also appreciated the admission discount during my birthday month.

I absolutely LOVE This park. Everything about it makes me happy. The tigers are my favorite but there is something to see for everyone here. You can tell the animals are well taken care of and the keepers actually care about them and each other. Worth every penny!

If you don't go to this place, you will miss out on a once in a life time experience...I'm not too sure you would ever get this close to animals on any Safari in Africa, but even if you did, you can just go to Camp Verde for much less money!!! [This was worth every penny, even if I didn't get a military discount which I appreciated very much]
You get sooooo close to animals--- within 10 feet of big bears, lions, tigers, pumas'mountain lions, hyenas, and zebras. (On Predator Feed--- which only happens Wed, Fri, and maybe 1 other day, you get about 7 to 8 feet away) On the Safari tour ride, 2 giraffes stuck their head and couple feet of their necks inside the vehicle to feed from ALL passengers who were given free leaves to feed, their were 3 huge animals like a long horned steers bathing in a natural pool and the driver got us with 15 feet of them. Every single docent were very well informing to funny, from the creature feature Skunk show, Safari tour, and Giant Anaconda repitle touch, ( you get 5 minutes to touch), Even the docent driving the shuttle was hilarious and get us within bout 45 feet of a huge Rhino. The Tiger Splash show and Predator Feed is worth all the hype.
Again, I'll repeat, this was one of the experiences in my life easily.
And for a place like this, I was expecting bare minimum bathroom like an outhouse porta potty, but they were unbelievably clean, better than our hotel. Every waiting station has very nice amount of cool misting fans as it was hot about 105 or so. I was surprised too at their high quality avocado chicken wrap as thought it just would be overpriced n basic but better than some upper scale fast food restaurants with carrots and red peppers which had made for higher quality wrap healthwise and flavor wise. In closing--'EVERY experience I mentioned was all included in basic admission price too!!!
( not sure but I think its a fair bit more pricier than typical zoos, but you would have to pay wayyyy more than this to even have just 1 intimate personal encounter, when here every single encounter was intimate

This is a nice park to see lions and tigers. We watched the tiger slash show, and sadly learnt that the tigers were once kept as pets and behave like cats, and gladly to see they are now well treated. We also caught the feeding, and it's fun to see how they spoil the bear.

As a part of a Photography Workshop, we had access to early sunrise shots and closer (safe) encounters with the animals. We had a guide assigned to our small group. We were able to speak with the various handlers who worked every day with their assigned animals. They told us about the species in general and the history of the individual animal in their charge. As a photographer, I learned so much to take me to that next level of photographing wildlife (without the expense of going to Africa).

We came through there yesterday and there were signs that the park is closed. How long is it going to be closed for?

Not sure as we have never seen a closed sign on the park.

You get in free your birthday month!!! This was definitely a perk for my family so we didn’t have to plan to go on their actual birthday if we had other plans.😁

Yes you do get in free during your birthday month! We couldn’t find info on that either, but it is something that they offer.
What time of year are the animals most active?

Hello Andrea D,
As far as the hoof stock goes when you are on safari, they easy to be seen and they know you arrive with treats. The carnivores are very similar to us, and when it is sunny and hot, they seek shade and their pools in the case of the tigers and bears. The Unimog Adventure Tour is a good way to upgrade and the guide has treats to bring the big cats up to the fences to see. It is $20 more per person (kids 5 years and up only), and you will also be going into the Serengeti area to feed to giraffe and camel.

what is the difference between the regular safari and the upgrades safari in the unibog?
Ashton P
arizona3 bidrag
The main differences between the African Bush Safari and the Unimog are the size of the vehicle, the amount of time spent with the guide and the areas your are toured thru. The African Bush Safari takes guests into the Serengeti area (where the free-roaming hoof stock live) and the Unimog takes guests thru that area as well as thru the wildlife preserve area where the carnivores live and brings them up to the fences for guests to meet with treats. The Unimog is time and date specific and limited on seating (11 am or 2 pm with roughly 40 seats available). During our busiest time of year (March & April) we do occasionally offer another tour time at 3:45 pm. Please let me know if you have more questions.

Is there a way I could actually go in the cages to pet and feed the lions?
Ashton P
arizona3 bidrag
Hello,
No we do not allow guests to enter into any of our large carnivore habitats to interact with them. That is for your safety as well as the protection of the animals. If you were to get injured, we would likely have to put the animal down, and that is not what we want to do. We love our animals and do not want to place them into harm, nor do we wish to see anyone of our guests harmed.

Does the Feed a Tiger allow you to feed the white tiger, or is that only for the VIP tickets?
Ashton P
arizona3 bidrag
That is a great question. We have several different tigers that take turns playing in the Tiger Splash Show. The tiger(s) that plays in the show is generally the cat for the feed-a-tiger opportunity, which isis maybe two days out of the week, provided they want to come play. The VIP's generally also feed the tiger that is in the arena after the show as well. We have a male and a female white tiger, unrelated, and they are not in the same habitat together.
