We were very excited to go on a trail ride with friends from Sicily. Unfortunately, the weather turned on us and the Friday before our Saturday ride, we received notice of cancellation. We are so happy we were not subjected to horrific weather so that somebody could earn a buck. We really appreciate the candor and willingness to sacrifice profit in the name of our comfort and safety.

The site was very old western buildings and the staff is welcoming and friendly. The horsed we road where we’ll mannered and fun. Unfortunately the riding area was a bit boring only because the forest service hasn’t allow the rest of the trails to be used because of the lingering wet winter. Still very muddy and slick and the streams are over flowing. Perhaps in May those trails will be open. Otherwise we had a great time.

We enjoyed an excellent experience on our recent family vacation. Bess and her assistant were friendly and extremely patient with our 8 year old - answered all kinds of questions, provided many tips and insights about the horses, and ensured that we all had a wonderful time!

Having not ridden for years, I was “all hat and no saddle.” Do book well ahead: we had hoped for a longer ride but managed a one-hour trip. It was expertly guided and we two greenhorns got good advice on riding. Our horses were very forgiving. These animals are well cared for.
Highly recommended! Not even sore after.
Tip your guides. They work hard and make the rides a lot of fun. The forest trail we took was lovely, and we plan to book ahead for a longer ride when we are next in the area.

My daughter is an experienced rider and I am not, however Buck ( our guide) was able to fill both our needs. The ride was informative and BEAUTIFUL. I love to hear about the history of places that I visit. Ultimately riding a horse through the canyons was a refreshing, wonderful experience. The horses are well fed and cared for. We toured the stables and all of the livestock were healthy and seemed happy. My daughter owned a horse and I experienced first hand good and bad barns. Bottom line, the 3 hour ride was worth every penny. Thank you Buck for helping us have an amazing and cherished memory.

Absolute blast! Did the three hour guidedhorseback tour of Walnut canyon. The horses were easy to ride as a first time rider, and Buck, the guide, was friendly and insightful.
Highlights include exploring a cave, seeing a herd of elk, and visiting the new foals at the stable.

Had an awesome time horseback riding! This was my second time riding and I was given Grace as my horse. She is super strong and a gentle giant. Mary was our guide and was fantastic in leading me, my hubby and another couple in a 2 hour ride through nearby canyon trails. I was a bit nervous because that's just me. Mary was so empathetic and calming throughout the whole ride. She offered to lead my horse and did so to help my nerves. The horses are absolutely beautiful and well cared for! I highly recommend this amazing experience!

What a wonderful experience I had at the Historic Hitchin’ Post Stables. Mary and her team were so warm, welcoming and kind.The trail ride was absolutely beautiful and exactly what I was hoping for. The horses are also well taken care of and very healthy. I highly recommend this ranch if you are looking for and interested in horseback riding trail rides in Flagstaff. I will be back again soon and can’t wait!

Buyer/tourist/visitor BEWARE!!! The owner of this business, Roger Hartman, is awful!!! I will not support this local business and I would encourage no one else to. I was booking a trail ride for my daughter for her birthday and was told the price was $75 per person. I mentioned that the website says the trail rides are $55 a person. The lady told me she would have to talk to the owner about whether he would honor that price or not. I sent the link to the business of the page on their site that had the $55 price listed. The lady called me back and said that the owner refused to honor his price listed on his website. We were booking for 4 people and he decided to stick with the $75 and lose the business all together instead of honoring his own websites price. This man is an awful business owner and I plan to make sure to get the word out. DO NOT support this mans business!
The page STILL has the $55 price listed. I am sure he will get it changed but we are a couple days out from the conversation with the girl that worked there and still isn't changed.

From start to finish both Mary and Kaleigh were very welcoming and incredibly helpful throughout the whole entire experience. That hour went so fast I was ready to go again for another hour! The friendliness and knowledge that was shared throughout the whole trip was gladly accepted!

You have the Hilton Doubletree as others have mentioned. I stayed there. I would DEFINITELY recommend renting a car as there is no public transportation. It would be alot more cost effective Vs. Uber. Also, be wary about the Flagstaff Airport, if that's where you are flying into. They close at 11PM.

Depending on the age of family members, our hour ride is great for kids who have not been on a horse before or have little experience. It brings you right into the mouth of Walnut Canyon. If kids are a little older, the 2 hour ride is recommended! Beautiful views of Walnut Canyon, great experience for all ages! Please give us a call and we can inform you further with any questions or concerns!

for safety we do not take doubles, however we do take 5 year old children and up on their own horse and lead them for first time rides.

Our rides range from 1hr to 8hrs, they start at 55.00 for an hour, 100.00 for two hours, 150 for three hours and 180.00 for four hours...
The rides go into the Coconino National Forest in Flagstaff, Az. Lot's to see and experience.
