This is a great venue on the edge of Waikiki (Kapiolani Park) that takes advantage of the climate and the beauty of the area. Lawn seating is a vast grassy area, with a nice slope so all spots are good for viewing and acoustics. Restroom facilities are adequate, and there are usually plentiful day-of-show vendors for beverages, in addition to the small snack bar on the far side.

I attended an event here as part of a conference I was attending. Unfortunately, the event was boring. But, the Waikiki Shell was nice. Just not as nice as many other similar facilities I've been to.
Some improvements I would like to see: a drink holder for the fixed seats, more concessions, and more restroom facilities.

The Waikiki Shell is an outdoor amphitheater in Kapiolani Park. The acoustics are very good in this venue.
The front section can be isolated and made into a reserved seating area with a raised and inclined area behind for grass seating.
The amphitheater is used for everything from music concerts to broadway plays and dance troupes.

My son lured me out to Hawaii with tickets to a Jimmy Buffett concert for my Father's Day present, and was it ever worth it! The concert was held at the shell on a perfect Hawaiian night, complete with the full moon in a cloudless sky rising over the shell for a backdrop to Jimmy and the Coral Reefer Band. The crowd, as always, at a Buffet concert consisted of young and old alike, from 3 generations of Daughter, Mom and Granny weaving their way through the crowd, (Don't lose Nanna), all the way down to the young couple next to us with their 6 WEEK old daughter who mostly slept through the whole concert. (no reflection on Jimmy and his performance). Jimmy even did a
tribute to Tom Petty and the crowd went wild. Truly a memorable night at the Waikiki shell!

We traveled from the Big Island just to see Jackson Browne. The Waikiki Shell is a wonderful venue. However, when they "pulled the plug" and stopped the music in the middle of his encore, it was very disappointing for his fans and I'm sure a huge embarrassment for him and his band. During his performance, he raved about how wonderful it was to be in Hawaii. The Waikiki Shell management should be ashamed to have treated a well-loved legend like Jackson Browne this way! It was an awesome performance ruined by the Waikiki Shell management.

The Waikiki shell is a horrible venue because we went to see Jackson Browne last night and they actually turned off a song in the middle of his finale song because it was 10pm which is the sound curfew. How tacky to an honored, longtime guest of hawaii for music. I’m sure he was embarrassed but more important the people of hawaii were embarrassed for our ridiculously run state.

Wonderful venue for music or plays in park at east end of Waikiki. 2000 Seats are up close and inexpensive lawn seating often available last minute for up to 6000 in rear. Nice acoustics on beautiful lawn near the ocean, with cooling breezes. Swaying palm trees illuminated by a full moon. Jimmy Buffett rocking out on stage.
Logistics: easy walk from any Waikiki accommodation. Free parking around venue
No liquids or food allowed inside, but lots of concessions with ok food. I suggest Eat and Drink before the Show. Take a blanket to sit or lie on while you gaze at the stars. Legless back seating allowed, but why bother with it?

My husband and I attended a concert at the Waikiki Shell last night. My husband uses a wheelchair and the Waikiki Shell is very accessible. There is a parking lot but it is small compared to the number of seats so people park on side streets. You can also get to the Waikiki Shell via city bus. The restrooms are large and handicapped accessible. The stage had a beautiful hanging background. The sound system is very good for an outdoor venue. There were food venders to the Diamond Head side of the stage. Before the sun went down Diamond Head was visible and makes for a very grand background. In addition to the seating in chairs there is also a lawn area above them that you can bring blankets and sit on. Folding chairs are not allowed on the lawn but you can bring the little seats with (no legs) a reclining back. A great place to listen to music in paradise.

Beautiful setting! We hadn't been here in years and the view, the event and performers were wonderful! Great Hawaiian music, clean bathrooms, great lawn to relax on, the only draw backs were that we would have expected better Hawaiian food selections and that parking was not allowed in the parking area for the three day event because of repaving (although we saw no sign of this)?

We traveled specifically to Waikiki to catch an evening concert here. Acoustics were great, the scenery breath taking, warm breeze, palm trees blowing, starry skies...I don't think there's going to be a bad seat anywhere.

Hello why do you have an event at Waikiki shell like graduation for kaimuki high school and in the parking lot there is signs saying tow away Saturday 5/25/19 for memorial day parade?

Which are the best seats to watch a concert?
I Have seen some pictures and prices of tickets, and the pool level are cheaper seats than others, and are really next to stage. Are they good seats?
How about the Lawn space to watch a concert over there?
