Lovely little site with an exhibition of different types of lace. We were given an interesting explanation by Rachel who also let us have a go at cushion lace. I loved it. There is an extensive library of all things associated with lace. Well worth a visit.

Visited with friends, when we arrived thought this will not take long as it was small. But spent hour and a half there. Unseen lace from the V&A was being displayed. Great exhibition. Very knowledgeable staff. Wheelchair access through the rear of the building.

Visited with a 10 year old fascinated by the lacemaking demonstration at Blists Hill Victorian Village. The exhibits are stored in glass cabinets but are still very viewable. The volunteer staff were very kind and helpful to my 10 year old and we left with everything we needed for her to have a go at home.

welcolming and a fabulous exhibition - demonstrator was interesting and knowledgeable. I suppose it is quite specialist and must enjoy looking at truly inspiring lace made using different methods of making it. Visit can be twinned with a visit to Red House Cone Glass museum and centre.

Without a doubt this is the place for Lace:-) Not to buy, lace, but everything else, connected with the craft, history, culture and making. And it's not just lace in the traditional sense as its diverse and touches on all forms of sister threads, like silver, silk, and techniques like knitting, crochet, etc.
Personally I had very little experience and knowledge of lace, it's history and making, until my visit, however the staff at the Guild are the experts and if they don't know then they know someone that will know :-)
The display and exhibition area is very small and consists of mainly glass cabinets. However the collection is very large and diverse as they have lace with everything, and the staff tell me that the themes and displays change. For example, when we went in late May 2015, for the International Glass Festival, the exhibition theme was "Lace and Glass Fusions".
The staff are good fun and very helpful. They have a website with opening times and lots of information at www.laceguild.org/
This is one of the venues for the International Festival of Glass at Stourbridge, held in May 2015.
I'm looking forward to the next one so keep looking on www.ifg.org.uk to find out information.

Visited here with my Mom who is a lace maker. The staff were wonderful to her (she's 86) they were knowledgeable, kind and friendly. Lovely displays. Possible to purchase books and items.
It pays to call before you go as I think they only take visitors on a Friday. Parking available. No admission charge.
