Tripadvisors tilnærming til anmeldelser

It was a very interesting experience to read and see the story of the life of the Jews in Rhodes before during and after the Second World War. Highly recommended, a bit difficult to find as you have to find a small side street in the main street of the old town

We visited six museums in the old town but this was our favourite. My wife had read One Hundred Saturdays and really wanted to see this museum and it did not disappoint. There is lots to read in English and the museum does a good job of explaining the Jewish community in Rhodes and the tragedy that befell them.
There is an excellent 45? minutes movie narrated by Isaac Habib which we really enjoyed. The only problem was there is nowhere to sit when you watch it. We are in our seventies but sat on the floor. Most people who entered the small room looked at the small screen, then looked around and seeing nowhere to sit just left.
Still a thoughtful museum and lovely Synagogue and an educational and emotional experience. One of the highlights of our time in the old city.

This is a visit not to be rushed. Its situated off a tiny high street (you might need google maps). Just take your time walking around and reading the history, its definitely worth it.

Walking through the small streets of the medieval city we came across the Rhodes Jewish Museum amongst a collection of abandoned stone buildings. Founded in 1997 by Aron Hasson in six rooms formerly used as the women’s prayer rooms, to preserve the Jewish history and culture of Rhodes. It is full of a great variety of Jewish historical objects.
TIP: Take your time, there is a lot to read. Also, suggest that you visit the Kahal Shalom Synagogue.

I already wrote a full review under the Synagogue but would like to highlight here again that both the synagogue and museum are extremely interesting. You can contact them by email in advance to find out about tours, or join once there, it was fascinating.

The synagogue and museum are off a tiny side street and not very well signposted. We used Google Maps to find our way. The Synagogue is beautifully preserved and the museum, although small, was very interesting and informative. Well worth taking the time and effort to visit. Obviously closed on a Saturday.

This is one of the best museums we have been to in Rhodes. The museum is part of the synagogue complex - only a few rooms, but loads of information and presented really well. Unlike any other museum in Rhodes, the English descriptions were really well written and informative. There is a really good video with testimony from a descendant of the pre WW2 jewish community.
The museum is really well presented and well thought out. This should be on anyone's list of things to see in Rhodes.

Dear Mrs Andy,
Thank you for your interest to visit our Synagogue-Museum .We are in a walking distance from the port where the cruise ship docks. We are off the Street of the Jewish Martyrs ( Martiron Evreon). We are on Simiou and Dossiadou Street. When you will enter the Medieval Town from the Port, you will be in what use to be the Jewish Quarter. There are signs showing where we are located , yet, you can ask any trader from the Jewish Martyrs street, they should be able to show you directions.
Looking forward to your visit .Our visiting hours are 10a.m-3p.m
