Subimos en el teleférico y bajamos andando desde la cumbre. Rutas bien señalizadas y muy buenas vistas. No nos gustó el tramo desde Plan Francey hasta la base del teleférico porque era por un carril más feillo, aunque con bonitas vistas también. Mejor bajar desde la cumbre, es más bonito y hay varios niveles de dificultad.

We had an amazing day out a Moleson with friends and kids (aged 10, 9 and 7).
They have loads for kids to do there including the alpine coaster, bouncy castles and crazy golf and to really maximise the value we recommend buying the all day pass. It can seem expensive at the start of the day but let’s the kids go on everything as much as the want which is good value if you go when it’s not busy.
The alpine coaster particularly is one of the best in the area in terms of length and speed and our kids went on it about 20 times each without getting bored.
The bob-luge is great for older kids (teens) or in our case for parents who behave like big kids and want to race down a hill in an off road cart at 30+ mph!!!!!
Take the train and cable car to the top of Moleson for incredible views at the summit on the panoramic ledge. We recommend lunch at the top, then walking down to the middle point and catching the train back down.
Tips for a great day here:
1. Buy the all day pass. It will save you money over continually topping up ‘per rodé tickets.
2. Go early. We have been 3 times and it is usually really quiet in the morning and you can just go on coaster and karts again and again without queuing. By afternoon, you have to wait in long queues.
3. When it gets busy, go up the mountain to get away from the crowds. Fresh air is awesome at the top of the mountain and the walks are spectacular.
4. Stop for a Fondue or an Ice Cream at Gruyère or at the Fromagerie at the bottom of the hill by the train station on the way home.

Une vue imprenable. On est émerveillé de voir toutes ces montagnes et lacs.
C'est vraiment splendide.
Les montées (funiculaire et téléphérique) sont rapides et vertigineuses.
Le restaurant est immense avec un grand choix de plats. Les prix sont un peu
élevés mais cela vaut la peine d'y aller.

We went to Gruyeres on a day trip from Lausanne by train. It is not difficult to figure out how on the SBB app. We took first a regional train and then a local one. The trip took about an hour and 20 min. the logistics of seeing Le Moleson were a bit more complex, which is why I'm giving the detail. After visiting the cheese factory, we took a local bus to Moleson-sur-Gruyeres (bought the ticket on SBB app; bus stop across from cheese factory; schedule on the bus stop sign). When we got there, the funicular was just across the parking lot and we bought a round trip ticket for the funicular and the cable car to the top. In retrospect, we only needed one way on the funicular because we walked down from the mid-point, Plan-Francy. The round trip tickets are quite $$, so if you are on a budget consider skipping the summit and hike from the mid-point or if you are very fit and not afraid of heights, hike to the summit. We planned on doing some hiking at the summit, but all of the trails there are above tree line and very steep and my boyfriend does not like heights, so that was out. The trail descriptions we read of All Trails were not clear on that point. We took the cable car back to the mid-point and saw that there were many trails starting there, including one to Gruyeres. We ate lunch that we brought with us outside and then walked down to Moleson-sur- Gruyeres. The trail was beautiful and only steep at the very bottom (I was glad to have hiking poles) . Several people were hiking up, but really huffing and puffing. However, anyone who is fit and has proper gear could hike up. All in all, I feel that we need to go back now that we understand all of the logistics and options. We thought Le Moleson was much nicer than the town of Gruyeres, which although pretty, is very touristy (bus-loads of tourists, lots of souvenir shops, many fondue restaurants with similar menus), but it all depends on what you like. It was a beautiful day in the 60's and I thought it was better spent on the mountain.

We went all the way up.

Après les funiculaire et téléphérique, une petite montée jusqu'au sommet pour jouir de la magnifique vue. Puis la redescente à pied, en parcourant la très belle crète de Tremetta, pour revenir ensuite par le Gros Plané.

Von Moléson-sur-Gruyère bis Le Moléson kostet das Retour-Ticket für Erwachsene CHF 35.- Es gibt keine Reduktion für GA oder Halbpreisabo!
Mit der Standseilbahn fährt man bis Plan-Francey
(1‘520 m) und anschliessend mit der Luftseilbahn 🚠 weiter. Bei schönem Wetter hat man vom Aussichtspunkt einen Rundblick auf die Alpenregion, das Greyerzerland und Genferseegebiet. Bei uns war es heute
leider nur neblig 🌧

Contrairement au dicton : du Moleson on voit la maison bin pas pour moi😂. Plaisanterie à part c’est grandiose. Arrivé via le téléphérique le dépaysement est total. Vue sur le lac Léman, Gruyère... Après avoir mangé dans la cafétéria nous nous sommes décidés à descendre à pied. Excellente ballade, ce n’est pas une randonnée pépère non plus car du dénivelé et des passages caillouteux. Pour nous en allant tranquille et en prenant des photos c’est 5km jusqu’à Moléson-sur-Gruyères et 2h de marche, mais j’ai dis tranquille. Donc un grand bol d’air, des marmottes qui sifflent en gros: dépaysement.

Grand alpiniste depuis mon enfance, à 75 ans j'ai pris la sage décision de ne plus faire de grandes ascensions à plus de 4000 mètres. Je me suis contenté de coursesfaciles et de via ferratas. Mes deux pléus belles sont Allmenalp à Kandersteg et le Moléson. J'ai maintenant 86 ans et vais encore souvent effectuer l'une ou l'autre voies, de nuit comme de jour. j'en suis à la vingtième, faite avec ma petite fille. Un jour je suis parti à 2h15 de Neuchâtel pour être à 3h45 à Moléson village, à 3h45 à Plan Francey et à 8h au sommet par la voie difficile. Descente à pied et retour chez moi pour le repas de midi (une soupe du chalet offerte par Nathalie du restaurant du sommet) Que vivent les fondues, les soupes du chalet et le Moléson. Daniel

I'm interested in sledging on 7th January. I'm a bit confused on prices- it'd be 1 adult 1 child. Is the furnicular included if we get a 1 day sledging pass? Is the sledge hire refundable? Last question- how scary is it?? My son is six. Thank you!
