We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Davide. We met early because he wanted to get there before the crowds. Expert tip. When we arrived we were the only ones there which was absolutely magical. He knows what he’s doing and has amazing information to share. The trip Exceeded our expectations. A true naturalist experience. Plus he had homemade cake, watermelon and cold tea!
We learned he also lead dive adventures and other activities- we will surely book with them again.

Our tour of Corcovado National Park began in the mangroves of Sierpe. We reached the park by boat in about an hour and a half. We hiked our first trail for 1.5 hours and then had a wonderful lunch (burritos, tamales, and fresh fruit/juice) at the Sirena Ranger Station. We then completed another 1 hour hike in the forest before reaching the beach where we walked back to the boat via the shoreline. When we returned, we stopped briefly to admire a few dolphins and then again in the mangroves to discuss their ecological significance and observe several sloths. During our tour, Jarold spotted everything. It’s as though he was a magnet for animals. We saw Howler, Spider and Squirrel monkeys, bats, iguanas, an anteater, toucans, an owl, a capybara, a tapir, and many many varieties of hawks and colorful birds. Jarold was very knowledgeable and had the best eye for finding wildlife. It was truly amazing. This is a very good company for Corcovado tours as they are highly skilled and very accommodating. Both Carolina and Davide communicated with me for weeks prior to arriving and throughout my trip and were very kind and helpful. I love that this company is focused on conservation and making their guests feel like family. I could not possibly recommend them (and this tour) more! Please note that parts of the trail are muddy so wear appropriate shoes. Thank you Life Planet Project for the perfect adventure and I hope we can meet again. Pura Vida!

Pura vida and good luck!

Dear Ditte,
what a pleasure it was to take you and your family snorkelling!
We really enjoyed the enthusiasm of you all, and loved the kid's keen attitude towards nature and animals, it is really refreshing to meet such young and passionate souls!
Thank you very much for trusting us, we're infinitely glad we managed to give your daughter the birthday she desired, and if you ever come back we'd love to meet you all again...perhaps next time we can even go diving!
All the best!

Life Planet Project (Davide & Carolina) arranged our day trip to Corcovado NP with a small group led by our guide Cesar who was the best! It was a long hot day, but the drive to Sierpe, the boat ride to Corcovado, and hiking to and from Sirena Ranger Station (where there was a delicious lunch) was well worth it and priceless to experience the true jungle. We saw lots of wildlife (all types of monkeys, sloths, tapir, ant eaters, ants, lots of birds, a snake and more) in the park and even dolphins on the way back. Great communication and highly recommended!

We took a diving/snorkeling tour to Cano Island, via the mangroves. Carolina and Davide are passionate about the oceans and the first little bit of the day we motored down the Sierpe River learning just why the mangroves are essential to the overall health of the ocean (they are a nursery for much marine life, they also provide protection to the beaches that turtles nest on, and more). Other tours miss this out but the mangroves are in trouble and it's essential we all learn about it if we want to continue to enjoy our diving/interaction with ocean life.
Then we crossed over to Cano island, stopping to see a pod of dolphins on the way, and then whilst my partner snorkeled, I did a couple of dives. All gear/wetsuit was provided. It was the best shark viewing I've ever had, and very close at times, the sharks were untroubled by us and swam past often. I've been diving 20 or so times in Costa Rica on the Pacific coast and this was the most sharks I've ever seen, by a long way. We even saw a Hammerhead!!
Lunch was lovely, pasta served in a coconut shell, and after diving we explored Cano Island a little.
When we return we'll take another tour. It was a fantastic day out, we learnt and saw so much, and Carolina and Davide are great people who are doing their best to ensure there's marine life for us to enjoy in the future.

Dear TrekandRun,
it was an honour to have you both with us, and we had a wonderful time sharing our world with you!
Thank you for reaching out and choosing us, we definitely need more people like you to help save the oceans.
It would be great to have you back next time, there's so much more to explore here, more diving to be done and stories to share!
See you soon,

I was so glad I picked to travel with Life Planet Project a day tour which included snorkelling at Caño Island. The tours are special, as they only have a handful of guests at most. This means you can take as long as you like to view something special, and makes the whole thing a bit more personal. We took the boat at Sierpe, taking time to look out for the animals and birds who live by the side of the mangroves, including monkeys and sloths.
Then out onto the open sea to Caño Island, where you are sure to see dolphins alongside the boat, plus the odd flying fish. Next to the Island, we had a very long snorkelling session followed by a stroll on the beach, and then another snorkelling session before a relaxed lunch on the boat. On the way back we watched the sea birds flocking to the Violin Islands, before heading back down the mangroves, where we were introduced to the small crabs that live there.
It was a really great experience, and Carolina is a very attentive and knowledgable guide who will do what she can to try and get you even more out of this wonderful experience!

Summary: I had a fantastic time with Carolina and Davide. They were friendly and obviously passionate about the environment. They were even willing to clean up the ocean along the trip. In the end, it felt like a trip I took with some really great friends, not just some tour guides. I highly HIGHLY recommend the Life Planet Project for anything you want to do in the area. Book something with them if you want people who are friendly, passionate, extremely professional, and truly do care about the environment and are actively working to help conserve it. Book this if you want a trip that not only is fun, but also has an impact. Full review is below:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
About two weeks prior to my Costa Rica trip, I decided that I wanted to learn how to scuba dive on the trip. Life Planet Project happened to be the only place with availability during the days that I was there. The reason I mention this is because of how it really showed me that things work out the way they do for a reason. And in the end, I am SO SO glad that everything else was booked, because I would not have otherwise stumbled upon this wonderful experience with Carolina and Davide.
I initially reached out to Carolina via WhatsApp and we then discussed the details of the trip via email. She was extremely responsive, professional, and informative. Davide and Carolina prefer to break down the session over 3 days. The first day is dedicated for pool training, with Days 2 and 3 reserved for open water dives. My schedule only allowed me two days for training and diving, so they customized the price and package for me so that I could at least do the first two dives and finish elsewhere. In retrospect, I thought this structure really allowed me to learn and emphasized safety.
My first day in Uvita, I met with Davide to go over what I covered in the e-learning course. He was kind enough to pick me up from the hotel. We went over basic safety knowledge and any questions I had. The next day, we went into the pool, where we spent about 3-4 hours as he taught me basic scuba skills. There was a point where I felt like I could not learn a skill and lost all confidence, ready to give up. However, Davide remained patient with me. He coached me through the skill and before I knew it, it was second nature to me.
Finally, it was time for the open water dive. This day began with Davide and Carolina picking us up from the hotel and taking us to Sierpe, where we met up with another family with young kids. We took a boat through the mangroves. During this time, Davide and Carolina kept us busy by teaching us about the importance of the mangroves. However, what really impressed me the most was how they would stop the boat every time they saw trash in the ocean and picked it up. This didn't seem like something they only did cause we were there and they wanted to show off. Instead, it felt 100% genuine and honest. It really opened my eyes to the amount of trash which ends up in the ocean.
At Cano Island, I went scuba diving with Carolina, while my wife and the family went snorkeling with Davide. I had a great time and she did a great job taking care of me underwater. I saw at least 7 white tip reef sharks, a spiny lobster, a school of barricuda, stingray, and various other species of fish. We even swam through an entire school of fish which was probably one of the coolest things I have ever done. At the same time, Davide took care of my wife and the family. It was my wife's first time in the ocean and he eased her in until she felt comfortable. He also did a great job making sure everyone was safe and pointed out various animals in the water, such as a sea turtle that passed by.
In between the two dives, we went to Cano Island and went to a viewpoint on the island, which was absolutely beautiful. Once again, Davide and Carolina had so much knowledge to share.
On the way back, they showed us some cool islands and took us along the mangrove (which was now at low tide). We saw a crocodile and learned so much about how important the mangroves are to the ecosystem there. Carolina and Davide also spent a lot of time talking to us about the threats facing Costa Rica marine life, such as shark fishing.
To summarize, this was one of the best experiences of my life. Even though I consider myself someone well informed about the environment and animals, I still learned a tremendous amount and had a truly eye opening experience. I did not know that sharks were so threatened in Costa Rican waters. I have also been a lot more concerned about the waste I produce since coming home. Furthermore, I have also noticed that my wife, who was always a little wary of sharks, has been pretty outspoken about their importance for the ocean. She now even goes out of her way to dispel myths and misconceptions that our family and friends have about these creatures. That was the impact this trip had on us.
In the end, I am glad that everyone else was booked, because I would not have this wonderful experience otherwise. While they were extremely professional the whole time, after spending three days with Davide and Carolina, I could not simply think of them as tour guides or instructors, but rather as friends who are passionate about what they do. I look forward to seeing them again when I return to Costa Rica.

we can't thank you enough for such a great, detailed and overall wonderful review!
We were so glad to receive both your wife and yourself, the course was lots of fun for us too and the boat trip...so happy we had you both aboard: we were really looking forward to give you a good experience.
It is with a big smile that we read about the impact this trip had on you both, and we're very happy you felt as if you were among friends: this is all we hope to achieve, having our guests learn, have fun and eventually share the message and their experience with others, so thank you for being so receptive, open minded and eager to learn!

We went to visit the Nauyaca Waterfalls, just wonderful experience!
Carolina she’s been so nice with all her knowledges to explain us the nature and history of the place, no words to describe the beauty of the waterfalls, definitely worthy trip with so many animals and landscapes you can see on the way to!
100% recommended! Thank you so much Nature for this present and also Carolina to show us in the best way we could imagine!
