A fabulous family day out. Our small children loved exploring the old ruin. Good picnic area by the duck pond and toilets open and clean. Decent walk up to the ‘Atom’, plenty of mud and puddles for the little ones to enjoy, great views from the top.

Beautiful place to go with amazing sights and a lovely shop for snacks and a warm drink. There are also different little trails and bridges to go over and plenty of ducks to feed. I recommend this to anyone who fancies going out for the day to be in touch with nature.

Parked in the car park at end of village, luckily the ticket machine was out of order. Quite a few security camera's high above the machine. Walked down to the village, what a beautiful place. Lovely old bridges across the beck, remains of the hall, it was idyllic. We got a map from the building behind the hall (toilets behind that) and walked the circular route taking in the Atom. There is a car park next to it if you don't want to walk there. Our walk took about nearly 2 hrs at a very steady pace, was a bit steep going up to the Atom but not to bad considering it was a hot day. Would recommend a visit.

The car park machine was not working. We had to phone up to pay by card & were charged 30p plus the £1. What would happen if we had not got a mobile phone? It was a lot of messing about to pay for parking. Also the cafe was not open. It would have been helpful if that information had been available at the carpark. What is usually a pleasant place to visit was spoiled by this new car parking system.

Wycoller is a great place for all ages to visit. I've been coming here for more than 60 years, first as a child when it was uninhabited and deserted. Now the cottages in the hamlet have been restored. The old hall remains a ruin but can been entered to see its features like the great old fireplace. Three ancient bridges span the stream making for a very picturesque setting. There is a small duck pond with some picnic tables by it. A small cafe and shop sells snacks and light meals. A popular walk is to follow the stream up the Dene with many footpaths to take in the surrounding beautiful countryside, where ancient vaccary walls stand. Fairy doors can be found on several trees, which my grandchildren enjoy finding. There is a little bit of information in the old barn. Suitable for visiting in every season. Parking is about half a mile before entering Wycoller, although disabled parking is allowed in the limited space in the hamlet.

Beautiful tiny hamlet of attractive stone cottages. Lovely, atmospheric ruins of the manor house and ancient bridges. Daffodils and bird life all around the place. The information centre was closed because of Covid restrictions. Plenty of lovely walks from the area.

Always guaranteed a good walk with beautiful scenery... today couldn’t have been better with snow and clear extensive views. The amount of work that goes into the upkeep- definitely a must

We saw a brown tourist sign for Wycoller Country Park while looking for a countryside walk and for somewhere to have a picnic and arrived at the car park, however the machine which was there to pay £1 for parking didn't take coins and despite 3 different other people who were also parking there trying to use it with cards, it didn't accept those either, so we decided to risk parking, as did the others there.
Surely with places like this the cost of a useless machine is more than the revenue gained!
We had a lovely walk to the village and saw the ruins of the Hall. The public toilets here are open. We bought some hot snacks and drinks in the little shop which were a reasonable cost for good quality.
We walked back to the car park, checked the car was still ok and 2 others were trying in vain to pay at the machine. We ate our food sitting at a picnic table in the area behind the car park, which is a memorial tree garden, which we thought is such a lovely idea.
It's worth a visit here if you're in the area.

A beautiful, open ruined Manor House set in a gorgeous, tiny village. Not for those with walking difficulties as you cannot park in the town. Car park is about a 5-10 minute walk outside the town (£1 for the day), not a difficult walk and easy to find the straight path leading off the car park. Take a camera, a picnic and if you’re going in summer, some flip flops to walk in the beautiful stream. Great for dog walkers and families
