We often go to this beach, after about 30 minutes of walking you arrive in a reserve, with access in front of the Calamosche farmhouse, where I recommend buying what you need, because there is no refreshment point on the beach,
the sea and the beach are very beautiful, it's worth the walk, I recommend it on non-holiday days, to find a bit of tranquility

Beautiful place to reach after a walk in the green countryside. Crystal clear water and immersed in nature.

…this Calamosche beach is spoken of so highly!!…it is said to be the most famous beach in the Vendicari Reserve!!…it is a sandy bay that extends between two rocky promontories!!…and you remain sheltered from the currents! !...and the sea is always calm and of a beautiful crystalline colour!!...the location is certainly fantastic!!...it is said to be ideal for snorkelling!!...because here you can also find a variety of marine fauna!! …from the car park you walk for about a kilometer and you arrive in this certainly enchanting place!!…it has also been awarded by the Legaambiente Blue Guide as the most beautiful beach in Italy!!…but in my opinion!!…a lot of dirt at the edges of the beach!!…that if all that rubbish could be removed!!…it would be truly spectacular in every sense!!…yes!!…it could improve!!…this Calamosche beach!!…

Absurd but then it's not so absurd because WE know it but like good sheep we accept it. Calamosche, a natural inlet in a reserve where it doesn't seem to me that the region or those on its behalf do anything other than put bans and delimitation networks. To enter you first PAY €5 for parking and then €3.50 for entry and what do they give you??? Absolutely nothing. Not even a measly photocopied map. Walk 1 and a half kilometers which becomes 3 on the way back on a dirt path full of rocks and stones. Not a sign. Not a desired drinking fountain. Not a log of wood to sit on. You arrive and go down to a cove (but there are hundreds nearby and even much better ones) where people lie down among dry seaweed, wood, brambles, foliage and debris of all kinds brought by the sea, but which NO ONE removes from the sand. Looking at them you can see that they have been there for years. They say at the till that environmentalists don't allow it. Meanwhile the beach is really dirty. The sea will be beautiful but whoever takes the money at the entrance does nothing to deserve it. If you are ill outside or in the water you will probably die since the necessary assistance does not exist. I pity those poor parents with small children who have to "pull" or carry on their shoulders children and strollers that cannot walk on rocks. But why do we continue to indulge these pseudo managers who persevere in robbing and mistreating us??? Near Calamosche there are such beautiful and free coves and beaches, more than their famous but undeserving sisters. Meditate people. Meditate. Ah. Payment at the entrance only by credit card and NO receipt.
Avoid to enjoy other more enchanting and comfortable places.

Beautiful and picturesque beach but very dirty. Rough sea all day and unfortunately full of algae like the beach. Also very awkward to reach. 1.2 km on foot. Never again

What a disappointment!...we found the beach and the sea infested with algae. A storm can happen and that day we had a bad time, but they had to warn us at the ticket office since you pay for the ticket, also we will have saved ourselves 3 km for nothing under the sun. The SICILY REGION KNEW why I reported this on my return…. but when it's time to make cash, who cares 😡😡😡

After having traveled by car along a subspecies of mule track which is quite broken down and very narrow, you arrive at the entrance to the park where the ticket office is and only then do you learn that access is limited to 550 people, so you risk not getting in. Once you enter, no sign warns you of the distance to travel, only a generic "twenty minutes" said by the ticket agent. During the route almost entirely under the sun, you don't find a sign indicating a kind of mileage, among other things useful if someone gets injured or feels ill, to help you find them. You finally reach the stairs that take you to the cove, you find a box containing a defibrillator, first aid kit and stretcher (locked with a padlock), you go down to the beach and find it dirty, and the stretches of cliff famous for their numerous caves, fenced and therefore not visitable. Maximum disappointment

Beautiful but not beautiful. Definitely overrated and not worth the hours of queuing on narrow, bumpy streets. I went there in August only to discover that after two hours queuing in the sun the beach was full. Since it is a reserve, a traffic light would be appropriate before entering the road. We went back in October and unfortunately my expectations were too high. Pretty cove with a sea that is certainly not crystal clear and infested with algae. In Sicily there are dozens of beaches better than this. I don't know how Legambiente defined it as "the most beautiful beach in Italy" in 2005.

A so-called shaded parking lot (?) €5 with the possibility of a shower on the way back (much appreciated)...entrance to the paid site (€3.50 per person in September, no cash, credit card only)...20 minutes walking on a path...and the beach at the end between 2 rocky spurs. Lots of algae at the edge...clear water...Lots of people even on September 21...butts in the sand...no trash cans, waste to bring back...It's up to you...A a little further after the entrance to the reserve, there is "L oasi della frutta" which has good reviews...

Just put on a pair of glasses to see a backdrop full of plastic and various rubbish. A real disappointment. And certainly the lack of a waste bin does not encourage people's lack of education.
