Great day birding with Marco... We traveled around Lago Tresimeno, Lago Montepulciano, and Lago di Chiusi, and some of the surround agricultural land and some wooded areas. September is not the best time for birding, but we saw lots of ducks, other water birds, some nice raptors and passerines, and a few wild boars! The countryside is gorgeous and Marco was a nice and interesting guy to spend the day with.. He suggested I come back in spring or winter when there are more birds, but is was a delightful day for me!

Marco knows birds! I added 27 lifers during my day excursion! He knows the area like the back of his hand and navigated us efficiently through multiple habitats creating one of those days that you hate to see come to an end. Adding to the great day was stopping at family-owned local establishments for refreshments and lunch. Marco even was able to entertain my teenage son who I made go birding that day. My only regret of the day was not having time for a day ending beer with Marco!

My wife and I spent the day with Marco exploring lagoons along the Mediterranean in Toscana. He is a wonderful guide and led me to many lifers as well as other beautiful birds of Italy. I would highly recommend his services.

Excellent Value! Marco answered an email as my husband and I planned our trip from Vancouver Island, Canada. He met us at our B&B and showed us the surrounding country side of Lucca, including Lago di Massaciuccoli. Marco led us to many different habitat and identified 56 species of birds!! All lifers for us. Absolutely amazing! Thorough knowledge of the history of area and identifying endemic and introduced species. We spent from 0800-5pm together. A perfect day! Thank you Marco.

Marco was an excellent birding guide, with great knowledge of birds and birding spots. I would not hesitate to recommend him to others, and to use his services again!

Marco was great. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Got to see many species of birds and many beautiful locations. Would definitely recommend him for your next birding adventure.

Had a great experience birding and hiking with Marco in Arezzo! I went with my husband and three toddlers (5, 5, and 3 years old). Marco was very knowledgeable about the area, birds, and other local animals. He is very flexible with timing and slowed down for our kids when needed. It was a great way to explore more of Tuscany and keep the whole family engaged. Would definitely love to explore other areas in Italy with him as he travels throughout the country. His website is also very informative.

We (my sister and I) did 2 days birding with Marco. He showed us amazing habitats where he found both common and rare birds. In particular, he knew where specific species would be and had a keen eye to help us find them. He was also very nice to chat with and very punctual (even a bit early) to our meeting points. Overall a knowledgeable, nice person who was generous with his knowledge. It was a pleasure.

After a few days in Florence we moved to Subbiano and met up with our guide for a two day birding trip. Marco was exceptional in every way. He took us to several sites which afforded us great views of birds, and we saw several lifers, the favourites of which were honey buzzards, hoopoes and squacco herons, to name a few. Turtle doves, one of our favourites, were also seen and heard. Marco's knowledge is excellent. He also picked up on our interest in history, culture and the environment and took us to several fascinating and beautiful places, not least being the La Verna, a Franciscan Sanctuary dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi. We were bowled over by it. Inviting Marco to dinner on the first night of our stay was really useful and fun!
Absolutely recommend him as your guide. We hope to see him again sometime.

I recently enjoyed an exceptional birding tour in Umbria and Tuscany with our guide, Marco. His deep knowledge as a local ecologist and keen bird-spotting skills made the trip unforgettable.
