This place is an average poorly maintained zoo.... It just has a few animals and any average zoo in a tier-2 city in India will be far far better.
To make it worse there is no official website where we can find the timings. We made a huge expensive trip from Doha assuming the park to be open thru night, only to find the zoo closed.

It's like a little slice of nature paradise in the desert. The park has this chilled-out vibe that's perfect for a weekend escape or a casual stroll. First off, the greenery is legit. I'm talking about lush lawns, shady trees, and flowers that make you forget you're in the middle of a desert. And if you're into picnics, they've got these cool designated spots with tables and benches. here's a play area for the kiddos that'll tire them out (cue parents' happy dance), and the mini-zoo is a nice touch.

This is the farthest I travelled away from my place in The Pearl, Doha. Since from my place there's no direct metro or mowasalat buses until the location of the park so I took a metro train, a bus and UBER to reach the place that cost me 20 qar one way ( total 40qar two-way). I must say the travel is worth it.
I didn't know that you need an online booking for the ticket. The guard on duty is very helpful in booking me on the venue itself. The ticket cost 15qar. And I say it's all worth it.
The animals: from lions, tigers, bears, cheetah, zebras, monkeys, rhinoceros, snake, wolf, deers, ostrich, giraffe and a lot more are all very active and alive, which is a very good indication that the animals are well taken care of compared to the other zoos that i'd been that most of the animals were just lying down due to old age and poor maintenance.
The birds sanctuary is also worth mentioning. The idea of an enclosed area is so astonishing while visitors can access through it and physically observing the birds, I mean you're walking around as the birds flying around. The whole area is covered with net that's so high and so wide. The design is very brilliant.
The paintings on the wall surrounded within the park is simply not painting. When you looked closely you will observed that it were sculpted meticulously. Another astonishing details about this place.
The park is also very clean, considering several food shops and stalls alike. I eat at Nakahat. The staff there are very nice. The meals are very affordable and delicious. Also encountered several staffs/ guards within the park zoo they are all very kind and accommodating.
Alkhor zoo is by far the best of all the zoos I've been visited in my life.
Can't wait to be back.

its an okay visit maybe for the kids its enjoyable. the facilities are rundown and dirty not to many dining options and the toilets are in a bad state

The park is around 40 km from the city center, it's a decent drive to the place. There is ample parking space.
There are no ticket counters and you can only buy tickets online, there was a technical issue while booking and i had to book twice and paid double and the amount was never refunded back. It is advised to book in advance so you are not stuck at the gate. Also if you plan to visit the panda house it is highly recommended to book in advance as the number of tickets for panda house are limited and you may not get the ticket on the spot.
The park ims nice and green with alot of place for families to sit and have some nice time.
There are alot of animals including the big cats like the lion and tiger but the space for the caged animals is really cramped, it might be that due to the heat during summer it may not be possible to keep a large area cold but I am sure there are ways where this can be managed either through bigger closed glass chambers or through some other solution but seeing such majestic animals cramped in a tiny space does not feel good.
The other parts of the park are nice and they have animal feeding activity too and it's fun for the kids especially the giraffes. The reptile section is also nice. The variety of birds is also good.
There are limited eating options available.
All up its a decent family outing option but they need to find a better option to accommodate the caged animals. Bundle the place with the panda house and book the tickets in advance.

Beautiful large park with enormous space for everyone to enjoy. Local people are very friendly and welcoming and Mondays is family day - this is the day you’ll find lots of families enjoying the city’s parks. This park is worth riding a bike around to enjoy the whole place. I walked around it and found all sorts of play areas, water features and snack stalls. Lots of public facilities as well. A nice place to exercise or relax - whatever takes your fancy

Very well kept and pleasant park. Very well maintained and easy to navigate. It is a good one to visit with young children. You can see animals such as zebras, wild cats and giraffes. There is a good children's play area so take a picnic with you and you can spend a few very enjoyable hours there.
In the park everyone is still using cash payment so take change with you. There is an ATM outside the park which can be used.

El parque en si no está mal , bastante limpio. No muy grande tampoco es pequeño , parece buen lugar para los niños. Lo que me gustó es que se puede hacer picknik ahí , está bien que está prohibido fumar en el territorio pero estas personas deberían tener el lugar apropiado para fumadores si vienen pasar todo el día.
Ahora sobre el zoo. Tengo sentimientos encontrados. Para los pájaros , animales de ferma y pequeños animales está bien. Los únicos que vi eran león, tigre y chimpancé. León andando en 10 metros cuadrados en una jaula que da tristeza. Algunos de los animales dan pena y no lo digo por el tipo de cuidado por parte de personal sino por la gente afuera. Lo que más me emocionó fueron los chimpancés, animales que entienden , sienten y escuchan bien. La gente afuera se comportan peor que los animales adentro. Gritándoles , apláudanos , llamando para ponerles la cara , tocándoles y tirando cosas. La mínima solución poner los cristales aislantes y alegar la zona de estar. Los pobres no tienen lugar donde escapar de ellos . El suelo de cemento y 20 mentos cuadrados sin una hoja verde adentro para divertir estupida publica durante 40-60 años ? Esto es divertido? Sabiendo que mi opinión no servirá para nada , espero que al menos quien lo lea, por un momento pensara en cómo es pasar toda la vida entre las rejas siendo animales salvajes, pero por lo menos , gente , no hagáis su vida más miserable aún.

Hello. I went on a weekday ( not weekend) so I cannot help with that, but you can def being your own snacks. There are benches to sit on not sure if you can sit on the grass because of the Covid restrictions.

Yes, the park is now open after the upgrade. There are still some enclosures under development (crocodiles and elephants) but it’s open to the public now. Ladies days are Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Yes, it opens daily from 10 am till 10 pm. But, it is allowed for men with their families just on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. And during other days, it is allowed just for ladies and kids.

There is no wild animal in the park. All are tamed animals.

water is not a problem as there are plenry of water dispensers established throughout the park. but food choices are limited. we still managed to get popcorn coffee tea from the food station. for proper dining you need to go to the city of al khor
