They have accommodation on the mountain which we went to so that we could have an early start the next morning. The lodge is a short walk up the path from the carpark, keep an eye out for the signs. The Koroheke Lodge stay included dinner and breakfast the next day. The rooms were backpackeresque. The drying room was huge though. They did have Wifi but you had to pay for it through Zenbu. The food was decent and there was a bar on the top floor. You were assigned duties for the time you are there to he;p the upkeep of the lodge.
The ticket office is down the road from both the lodge and the carpark. They do accept the Chill pass here. You get the pass as well as a tow belt. they also sell glove protectors for $20 if needed.
All their tows are on the right side, which made it hard for me as a goofy snowboarder. They did help with how to get on and I just practised until I got it. My right hand did get really tired since it was used for both grabbing the rope and holding the nutcracker.
The snow was amazing, as was the terrain. There were just so many places to go down from. Although most of the snow was lumpy, there were still some untouched pockets which were really fun to ride down. There is a day lodge/cafe at the top. It is walkable from after the middle tow but easier to head down from the top.
Although I spend most of the morning learning how to use the tow, I did enjoy the mountain once I was able to get to the top. It wasn't super busy so it was a nice place to learn rope tows if you need to. Although it is one of the further fields from Christchurch, I really enjoyed my time there.

Hi FLOCK HILL
Being in hospo myself I find only too often we are told when we do something wrong but not often told or patted on the back when we do some good.
Well here goes –
Just want to say thank you for your wonderful service on Saturday.
I was one of 9 woman who rocked up to FLOCK HILL Station looking for a coffee – you were closed BUT offered to make us coffees!! And a couple of English Breakfast Teas.
Many would have not offered especially being confronted by 9 WOMAN!!
To top it off – when asked for something sweet to eat with our cuppa – expecting a store biscuit – NO we were offered freshly made brownie & tiramisu – OMG we were in heaven.
THANK YOU!
Also the grounds we walked around to say the least are just magical – a real credit to those that toil away in them.
Thanks again – we will tell people...... who will tell people ....... and so on.
