Recommend stopping and enjoying a walk around the bog and then wine tasting. It is a fun activity on a nice day. If rainy then just skip the bog tour and do the tasting. Nice little shop to buy wine, cheese and lots of other treats! Friendly, helpful staff.

Visiting this place was a disappointing waste of our time. The staff were not friendly and EXTREMELY rude!! We listened to an employee be ignorant to a family who just asked a simple question. I told another employee that I didn’t need the receipt and she ripped it off the machine stuffed it in my bag and told me “well it’s right here so you’re getting it anyway” in a very rude tone.

We ordered a flight of wine (which also was not good! ) and they were served to us in 4 plastic cups shoved into a Tim Hortons tray. We saw another couple had purchased a flight of wine and it was served to them on a flight board and in glass glasses.

The port-a potties were disgusting and there was no water to wash your hands.

We understand it is the off season but, with the amount of people who seem to still be visiting the winery, the up keep of facilities are still something that should be important, no matter the time of year

For a touristy place, I had higher hopes. I will never recommend this place to single person due to the disrespectful customer experience.

The wine and service both left a bad taste in our mouths.

This place reminds me of the Ginger Factory in Queensland, Australia, built around a product with uninspiring activities and products to solely grab as much money from you with as little effort as possible. Quick summary of lowlights…
-uninspired customer service, looks like all employees were done for the season and wanted to get out of there.
-wine flights - they select for you based on dry/sweetness preferences. Out of five 1oz. wines, only one was a cranberry/grape blend. All the rest were blueberry. Would have gone to a blueberry farm if I wanted blueberry wine.
-food is bland and very small portions.
-don’t bother going on a whim, they will only entertain you if booked day prior and online.
-pricing is exorbitant, as expected I guess.
One positive, cranberries are nice and fresh.

We booked the plunge on Thanksgiving Monday October 9 at 5pm. We paid $20 on line for just the plunge. We didn’t book the the wine tasting or wagon ride. All 3 would cost $60. There’s plenty of parking. It was a rainy day and we had to walk 10-15 minutes along a muddy path. When we got there we told the guy our shoe size and then we took the waders to the seating area which was under a canopy with benches and the ground was muddy. The suit was wet in the inside. My socks got wet. We brought our phones in the plunge area to take pictures. We stayed in 10 minutes then left. It was raining. I like the gift shop. Lots of interesting stuff. I wouldn’t do the plunge again but it was quite the experience.

Have you ever been so hungry, you’d eat your shoe? Well that’s what our pea meal sandwich at Johnston’s Cafe was like. As we washed it down with water, I felt like I was in a reality TV show where you have to eat grilled bugs - don’t chew, just gulp it down and hope it doesn’t come back up. The bread was tasteless and so stale it crumbled like a cracker and the peameal was room temperature. We had planned on buying some wine and preserves for Thanksgiving, but after the cafe experience, the thought of swallowing any thing these guys made literally left a bad taste in our mouth. Yes, we complained, no they didn’t care.

We've visited this place back in 2017 and truly enjoyed it which is why looked forward to our recent visit. However we are let down big time. This place has become a money grab business since and the overall vibe of the place is not the same. It is harvest season and with that you expect that they will have enough staff to handle the volume of customer since they heavily advertise their events in all social media, but you only see a handful of staff who are obviously overwhelmed and not too friendly. The Cranberry Plunge was rushed, you will be given 30 mins to complete the activity from the time they give you the waders ( which takes the first 10 mins) take pictures and return the waders. You will be with bunch of people and there is not enough space to take proper pics as there will be lots of people in the backgroung, both in the bog and people walking around. They used to allow you to go in alone with your group so you can take pic with the whole heart shaped cranberry bog and a staff member will take your picture so you will have a great photo op. Now you are left to take your own pictures or selfies and goodluck having a good pic with the whole group if you want proper pic. All you will hear from the lady in charge is her yelling " this start on time and you have to be out once you give the warning!!" For the price they charge $60/pp you expect pleasant service and experience, but it was nothing but rush experience and unplesant staff.

Wagon tour, people are squeezed in one wagon car, while the other car behind is empty. Bog to Bottle was . Overall for $120 for 2 people this is not worth it.

Also if you order a snack of charcuterrie board- expect 4 crackers and couple of cheese and cold cuts, You are better off with a store bough kids lunchables with the small amount they serve. Very disappointing and will not come back.

Booked online & no problem that we were the only two on the tour. Martha was very informative.
Thoroughly enjoyed the post-tour wine tasting, followed by a cheese platter on the patio.
We did do one of the trails after lunch but did have to cut it slightly short because of the bugs. However, we did enjoy this too, especially when we saw a beaver!

Great place for ice skating, just a let down at the end.
Asked what time the cafe was open to and informed to 16:30, came off the ice to the cafe at 15:45 to be informed they are no longer open for food and are closing in 5 mins.
After paying over 70 CAD for my wife and two kids and wanting to spend more money in their cafe, it’s a bit of a disappointment and a surprise considering you would think they are a business and want to make money.
Not sure if I would go back

The wine testing times were incredibly limited with only two times. We were asked to go to the cafe and order a charcuterie platter, a pretzel, and two tasting for over $60. We were expecting to get normal glasses and a nice charcuterie for the price. We got some cheese, a few crackers, pretzels and three pieces of meat in a plastic container and the wine was served in cheap plastic Denistry cups. The view/experience was disappointing as someone who frequently goes to Niagara wineries this was very disappointing. Would not recommend going in the summer months without the cranberry aspect.
