I don’t know if they all are tasting but ours was…I think it may have been due to distillery construction. We went into a very nice wood paneled tasting room. The presenter was very knowledgeable and the 5 whiskey’s were excellent. It was a great tasting but no tour.

We were in Aberlour and dropped into this lovely distillery for a superb visit and tasting, which was absolutely perfect for my two Texan visitors. I knew no tour was available, but the tasting and the time and detail taken more than made up for this, not to mention an excellent choice of drams available. It's a great place to stop either in Aberlour or when visiting Speyside distilleries.

Whisky tasting at Aberlour Distillery was great, our host was brilliant, certainly knew his stuff, the tasting was fun and informative, really nice to learn the history of the distillery and whisky's were very nice.

I had a driver from Aberdeen who picked me up at my hotel and drove me to/from this tour. It took about 1 hr and 15 mins to arrive, traveling at a good but safe clip. My husband and I had considered renting a car at Aberdeen Int'l Airport and driving there but my husband had to cancel the trip at the last minute due to urgent back surgery so I went anyway. Incidentally, I had pre-purchased two tickets and Aberlour Distillery was very gracious and quick to refund Honey's un-used ticket. I was going to rent a car and drive myself but have never driven on the left and there were numerous quick turns several miles away near Aberlour. I was also concerned about consuming alcohol due to Scotland's strict alcohol enforcement and extremely high fines for violations (2,500 pounds, I read somewhere!). This explains the high number of loaded bus tours, which didn't interest me since I only wanted to visit Aberlour Distillery. Although I ended up paying 325 pounds for the driver (seemed high but the driver was qualified and a total class act and it was cheaper than me screwing up and possibly having an accident and associated headaches). I am SO RELIEVED that I had a professional driver!
The distillery is owned by French conglomerate Pernod-Ricard as is a world class operation. Aberlour's tour itself was about an hour, with 12 or so fun people (mostly men) seated at two long tables with 5 Single Malt Cask tastings (I avoided the 1st one on the left which smelled like Everclear to me) and a small bag of chips. Aberlour's "guide" was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. She spoke a little too fast for me to comprehend all the history and humor since I was still getting used to "Scottish". I had mistakenly thought that this tour would include my favorite Aberlour Distillery product, A'Bunadh. This was completely MY mistake. I'm not a huge fan of Single Cask single malts and am not a big drinker so when I do consume, I want it to be "worth it"/i.e. A'Bunadh. My driver waited the hour for me but unfortunately I did not have time to tour Aberlour village, which looked charming. I hope to return with my husband some day. A pricey but fun way to spend a rainy day.

Definitely an experience that I’ll remember forever. Jonathan was so knowledgeable about the history of Aberlour, and we really enjoyed our time with him. And…the whisky was amazing.

My friends & I booked the Single Casks Explored tasting experience for September 7th. We attended a few experiences across a range of distilleries and this particular tasting from Aberlour Distillery was the unanimous favourite amongst the group.
Our host, Flora, prepared four single malt whiskies for our tasting, which included a 10 year old 1st-fill Sherry butt - my favourite of the four. Flora articulated themselves tremendously well throughout and served as an excellent host. Thanks again, Flora!

While there was no tour, I preferred the presentation and tasting experience. My favorite of the three I’ve done so far. Dan was entertaining, informative, and engaging. Plus I greatly enjoyed the whiskeys!

I have done literally hundreds of distillery tours and although we were unable to walk around the site, I really enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere that was created as our tour guide (lovely young lady with a German name which slips my mind presently,apologies), talked us through the complexities of Aberlour and what makes it different from other Speysides. For me Aberlour was a bit of nirvana, as it’s always been top of my list of single malts and this tasting did not disappoint.

Muy buena opción, para conocer una destilería pequeña y super bien atendidos, nos dedicaron todo el tiempo que necesitamos y por supuesto degustamos una amplia variedad de whiskys, fuimos sin reserva, es decir que no pagamos por la experiencia (lo recomiendo si pueden reservar) pero igual, como dije pudimos degustar y recibir algunos consejos. Obviamente terminamos comprando......

Yes, we booked the ”Casks from the past” which was just a tasting. I thibk they’ve changed their tasting for this year, but it’s easy to find the ”non-tour” tasting on the website

Sadly as our buildings are very old, the tour is not accessible by wheelchair.
However our shop is via ramp, and we always happy to assist.

Good morning and thank you for your enquiry. We no longer offer fill your own bottle at the Visitor Centre. We currently have and Aberlour 13yr old maturated in an Ex-American Bourbon Cask and an Aberlour 16yr old matured in an Ex European Sherry Cask for sale in the shop which come in the wooden box and the labels are filled in by the staff at the Visitor Centre

Hello, due to the length of the tour and the tasting at the end our tour is for over 18's.
Maybe check The Malt Whisky Trail for distilleries that are open to the public that allow children on their tour.

Hello!!!! Ok, need some help booking a night or two in Aberlour in June of this year. My husband and I are huge fans of your single Malt, but our kids (ages 13 and 14) are not!!! Can you give us some advice on where to stay and if theres stuff for the tweens to do? I have been to Aberlour before but its been 20 years!!!! We'd like to stay June 9-11th and looking for a budget friendly one that we could get to by train/bus from Edinburgh and still do a tour with you all. Can you give me a few names you'd recommend?

Can't help with bus however I understood there is service. We had a rental car. Nice pub with hotel very close by is the Mash Tun, we met a couple that was staying there and they liked the accommodations. The Cooperage might be a place to spend some time with the tweens watching the artisans at work and they can try their hand at miniatures. We saw several people on bikes moving to and fro as well. There is a pretty hike rather short directly beside the Distillery where there is a waterfall and nice and potential picnic no benches just rocks and view. None like CO where you are from.
