Disappointing reaction from a staff member throwing her hands up in her car behind me when I was hesitant on where to park my 6.8m motorhome in the large vehicle park. She obviously wanted to get as close to the front door as possible. As a Tasmanian I think it’s the little things that make a huge difference to how visitors enjoy their experience.
The new building is fabulous but the plastic flowers in the hanging baskets not appealing. I’m sure this could be out sourced to a local gardener to supply living attractive plants. Maybe succulents which can look beautiful with little care? Again - it’s the little things.
I recommend a visit to Devils Corner for a wine and enjoy the amazing views.

We visited the June long weekend, the views of the East coast are breathtaking when you arrive at the car park. We first called in Saturday and the wind was cyclonic, found a quite corner in the tasting room and consumed several bottles. Unable to eat in the downstairs area due to being booked out for a function. Called back again Sunday and the weather was perfect, we ate upstairs in the open area, the seafood was fantastic, managed to consume a few more bottles eating and sitting in the sun!

We went to taste the wine, cost for a tasting was more than any other winery I have ever been too.
Sad the wine was not of our liking,

For me the best thing was the design of the buildings, they fit well into the landscape.

We booked a premium tasting at $20pp which had personalised service overlooking the expansive view from the cellar door.

We have been in tas for almost 3 months and have visited all wine regions here, and can honestly say the tasting experience offered by Angus was BY FAR the most down to earth and engaging we’ve come across the whole time. He is an asset to this business.

The wines were an interesting mix - $20 included two sparklings, two whites and 3 reds, each with their own individual style and whilst we really enjoyed their new experimental Pinot/Syrah blend, we thought the price tag of $70per bottle a bit steep. We definitely would have purchased some of this if it was more around $40-50. In the end we took home some chardy & Pinot (which we also enjoyed by the glass overlooking the stunning views with our lunch).

Lunch was a bit harder to review (because we feel it’s unfair to judge the winery for their food partners) BUT the seafood place was definitely a let down. The oysters were small, somewhat fishy and still had quite a few beard “hairs” on them and some flaky shell in the oyster itself. They had been opened but not ‘shucked’ in our opinion, which means the tendon holding the oyster to the shell is cut so they can be eaten by pretty much by tipping them into your gob! The joining fibres were still intact on these, which was really difficult to cut using a bamboo fork especially when they are coated in toppings so you can’t see the oyster. The oysters got a 1/5 from us.

The pizza on the other hand was delicious! Crispy gluten free bases, tasty toppings and generous portions. The pizzas we CAN recommend.

Don’t know why this beautiful venue doesn’t just open up their own restaurant and eliminate the concerns of underwhelming food partners??!!

Either way, the views were sensational, great pizza, some excellent wine and hopefully you’ll get the spot on service from Angus on the day you’re there too. 🍷

Smallest sampling flight I’ve ever had, not worth the money and so little in glass impossible to know if worth buying. We also had the salmon pate which was pretty bland.

Stopped here on our way from Launceston to Freycinet as the setting looked so good and the lookout grabbed our attention.

Plenty of free parking and an easy walk to the enclosed look-out - free entry. The cellar door and restaurant were a further 50 - 100 metres away, down a sloping pathway.

The look-out is made of timber, has toilet facilities at the bottom, and a great undercover viewing platform at the top (36 stairs). The views over the surrounding vineyards, lagoon and further on to Freycinet are superb.

We understood that the whole complex was opened in 2015 and certainly the cellar door has very sleek modern lines with great views from the large windows. We were lucky to be able to get a wine tasting (normally have to be pre-booked) and enjoyed our flight of wines for $15 each. There were other experiences available for premium wines at an additional cost. Our preferred wine was the Pinot Noir. Cellar door staff were very knowledgeable and pleasant.

The on-site seafood restaurant, Fishers of Freycinet, looked appetising but we had already had lunch somewhere else.

Worth a visit if only for the views.

We happened upon this winery as we made our way from Scamander to Swansea. Definitely worth stopping in if only for the fantastic views. Of course, we also picked up some delicious wine!

Fantastic sweeping views across vineyards to Great Oyster Bay with The Hazards standing dramatically in the background. Good wine selection and tasting but it was the service that really made this an exceptional visit...
Anne was lovely, going out of her way to make my elderly mother feel welcome. Anne really went above and beyond though - we mentioned to her about our poor lunch experience earlier that day at a completely different (and unrelated) venue. Annie raised this with one of the two eateries at Devil's Corner (Fishers of Freycinet) and they gave us a COMPLIMENTARY dish of our choice! This was an unbelievable level of attention and service from both businesses, interested in not only the reputation of all businesses in the area but genuinely caring that whether we had a good experience in the area. This is after yet another recent deluge flooded the area causing more havoc for local businesses. Really impressive level of care and service for their patrons. We weren't spending much money there either (less than $50) so it was not motivated by that.
By the way... the complimentary dish was delicious (we had a huge bowl of mussels with garlic, cream and parsley). I HIGHLY recommend Fishers of Freycinet too!!

A great setting with something for everyone with a cellar door for wine tasting, seafood shack for oysters and more and Tombolo for other food and coffee. Also plenty of space for kids to run around.
Imagine it would be great for groups, tourists and families but lots of other options if you are just after local wine tasting.

Service unprofessional and disrespectful. Our group of 12 had our wine tasting slopped carelessly into our glasses without comment, very tiny but variable pours. Although they happily took our money, the presentation and discussion were abysmal. We observed others receiving even, substantial tastes served elegantly in wood wine racks. We were a mature group with much wine experience, but for some reason received astonishingly poor and even rude service. Any thoughts of supporting this enterprise and buying a few bottles disappeared quickly. I hope this was the work of one ill-humoured employee and not the standard for this well-situated winery.
