We did the 90 minute horse trail ride. As an inexperienced rider I was a bit nervous. The guide tells you everything you need to know and it’s fun and safe. The guides were amazing. Biscuit kept us on track and informed with a lot of info on the area. He was great and we had a lot of laughs. I highly recommend this adventure.

We did the horseback riding and had a fantastic time. Great scenery, wonderful horses for beginners, and fantastic guides.

Beautiful scenic trail ride with friendly cowboys and gentle horses! We had a blast and enjoyed the ride through the river and all the friendly stories. Highly recommend!!

This was so much fun! We would recommend this place to everyone! Bald eagles, wild horses, wild cows, taking the horse through the river Levi and Sam were so much fun! Knowledgeable and fun about the terrain and that the take such good care of their horses !

We went to Ft McDowell Adventures to get in some horseback riding. We are not serious riders but we love to do it.
The staff was great to deal with. Fortunately, we were alone on the ride with just the guide and he was great. It was a 90 minute ride and took us across the desert and down through the Verde River. Due to the drought, the river is low. We then came back up the hills and finished with a flat ride. It is obvious that the horses are well taken care of.
We will be back!

My 11 year old daughter saw trail rides offered in our Airbnb book. I searched the internet and found a Groupon for Fort McDowell Adventures. I called and asked if I could combine groupons to get a 3 person ride. They took our reservation for the next afternoon.
Our drive from Scottsdale was easy and we saw wild horses eating on our way up the road to the ranch. We followed GPS to an office and redeemed our tickets and got helmets. We were offered bottle water and told there was saddle bags for phones and waters and keys...perfect. We waited for the next group to sign waivers and off we were to get saddled up. My girls 11 &!14 got some great horses. They received good instructions too. Troy was such a friendly, professional and calm leader that got me out of a bush & a tree..yes my horse had either wanted me off or had an itch. I still had a fabulous time with breathtaking views. Wish Inwould have taken my GoPro. Thank you Troy!!

I want to do it again!! Cowboy Wayne was an incredible tour guide! With a short familiarization, we were off to ride the desert. So fun. He told stories and identified all sort of cacti for us. Wild horses, cattle, cactus, pictographs. Interesting and informative. This is a must do activity if you are in the area. Professional, affordable, safe, easy and a blast!

I had a interesting experience, Jake the was feeling a little rebellious and kept eating regardless of my tugging and kicking, had to whip him on the behind with the reins at some point to get him going. I was really impressed by Ben’s ability to stay calm and in control. Though I felt challenged by Jake the horse I never once became nervous or frightened by him because I was continuously guided and supported by Ben. The staff was attentive and connecting with everyone.
Thank you Ben, I didn’t get a chance to say it because we left in a hurry. I really appreciate that you were connecting with all the riders and your ability to stay cool even when the little girl was panicking about her horse crossing through the water.
As for the other guy who was leading the group who unfortunately I cannot remember his name, Troy, I think. He was very professional and in control of every situation we encountered which I appreciate. I could tell he cared for everyones safety. I believe he lacked some display empathy when my ankle got rolled between two horses and when woman got hurt by a tree branch, it just made him appear distant and cold.
Overall both men were great and attentive!!
PS: I do recommend a wristband handle for your phones if you want to take pictures. Don’t be reckless like my boyfriend who tried to take a video right before we as we crossed through the water and drop his phone (luckily not in the water).
For staff: I forgot to send this picture to the women in Blue, if there’s any way staff can get in touch with her, I called the office and left a message to call me back.

Really enjoyed our two hour ride with our guide Charles. The ride was great and he was very informative. We came across a wild Mustang and some cows. Also a rare golden eagle up in a tree. We crossed a river which was exciting. The horses were great. They were well trained and in very good condition. Would definitely recommend.

Wherever there is a horse, I want to be on it. I am an intermediate rider - or less - but definitely not a beginner. They did a very nice job and the horses seems well cared for which is of great importance to me and something I always pay attention to. Our ride was for 2 hours and our guide was Biscuit. He was very personable, informative, fun and gave us great information about what to expect at certain points relative to handling the horses. I would definitely do again. Knowing what I know now, I don't think I would do it if I was a beginner given the trail we took. But that may be because I am a bit cautious - maybe even overly cautious - when it comes to horse and riding safety. I don't take as many risks as I did when I was younger. Not saying that they are not concerned about safety because they are. I think they just were more comfortable with the environment than I was because they ride the trails often. The cautiousness was only applicable to a very small portion of the trail. The majority was fine for a beginner. I highly recommend them. Very nice owner and staff.
