Farlim Night market is a best place to try delicious and savory food in Penang Island. There are many types of food to try. If you are in Penang you must come to Farlim Night Market because it is also one of the biggest night market.

Night market yang di Penang ini hanya buka di Hari Rabu. Terdapat berbagai jenis makanan ringan maupun berat. Cocok untuk mencicipi makanan lokal di night market ini. Dan jangan heran jika pengunjungnya juga banyak.

Amazing variety of foods to try at Farlim Night Market. All super fresh and great value. For about RM 35 my wife and I had the following:
Spicy satay pork skewers
Dim sum dumplings
Fried chicken
A kind of street version of chicken cordon bleu.
Fried battered hot dog
"Thai style" grilled pork
Sugar cane juice
Ice lemon tea
The market was super busy but we seemed to be the only tourists there. Everyone else was a local. It appears to be very popular with the Chinese Malaysian community and there are lots of pork products.
The only negative was a lack of seating. They could double it and it probably still wouldn't be enough. We were not patient enough to wait for a free table so we just stuck with foods we could eat while walking around. Because of this we regretfully skipped some dishes like char kway teow which looked delicious.
Would love to come back another time and try more dishes, there were plenty we didn't get around to!

水曜のみ営業ですが観光客にあまり知られていないフード中心の大規模で活気のあるナイトマーケット。バスでも行けますがタクシーで行くのが便利。屋台の数は200店ほどあり、揚げ物、炒め物、シーフード、西洋料理、デザートまでとにかく種類が多く一晩では食べ尽くせない。注文を受けてから目の前で調理してくれる屋台も多く、作りたてが食べられるし、味は絶品。テーブルと椅子の数が非常に少ないので立ち食いの覚悟が必要ですが、地元民も納得の味と値段です。

We ventured out to this market based upon the reviews on here. It was a bit of a hike from where we were staying but it was worth it. The choice of food was amazing and you could just pick lots of different things to snack on. If taking children I would recommend making sure you take a bottle of water with you because that is harder to come by. Everything we had was delicious and the lemon and passion fruit juice was tangy and refreshing. My only other tip, get a grab back to where you are staying, there were no taxis around at all.

This night market is filled with goodies and scrumptious food. It's hard to resist the yummy treats and occasional items they have on sale.

I read from the reviews that this market opens only on Wednesdays. I am not really sure how true this is, but since I touch down on a Wednesday, I decided to have our dinner at this place on our first night. We had a rented car, and found that parking is not easy to find. Most of the lots around the market were taken up already. We finally found an empty lot and parked our car. (I was told later that it was necessary to display a parking coupon when parking by the roadside.) There was a reasonable variety of hawker food and the prices are low. Seating is limited. We sat down at a table and found that we had to order drinks from a nearby stall otherwise we could not sit there. So we ordered a soya milk and grass jelly drink from there in order to stay on. We also ordered char keat teow (fried rice noodles), sotong (squid) balls, roti prata (fried pancake) and satay (grilled meat on a stick). Food was tasty. And we did not suffer from any tummy ache. They were also desserts available but we were too full and could only stomach an iced milk tea for dessert.

We were in George Town for 4 days or so and made it a point to visit a night market everyday, mostly for the food. By far I would say this is one of the best markets to go and try some amazing local and fusion cuisine. We had soft shell crab burgers, gyoza, apom, fried calamari, fresh sugarcane juice, pork skewers, som tam salad and much more. there was laksa curry, soya milk drinks, satay, char kew tow and a million other things that we missed. the market does not have a big area to sit and eat, just a few tables where you can quickly grab a bite. Most of the food is served in a way that you can walk and munch at the same time. There is a whole lot of clothes and jewelry and small items that you can shop for as well. This market is a local market which means that you won't find many tourist here, coz most of them head to Batu Ferringhi. But I would surely put this on my to do list if im ever back in Penang.

A big night market for the locals. Only on Wednesdays and Fridays. Lots of food choices and stuff to buy. Seating may be hard to find as the place is really crowded.
