Visiting the viewpoints overlooking three volcanoes, including Mount Bromo and the imposing Semeru is certainly impressive. Most tours leave in the middle of the night to see the sunrise. When you get to the viewpoint you wait for things and wait for sunrise. Afterwards we head back to Mount Bromo where you can still climb the crater. On the other hand, the maximum number of visitors is probably reached in the meantime and sometimes you just want a little less people.
Please also note that it gets very cold in the morning and is also very windy at the viewpoint. Therefore, be sure to dress warm enough.

A magical place with superb views of smoking volcanoes. It seems to be still in prehistoric times.
What I find unacceptable is the way you go up in the morning to see the sunrise. Flows are not regulated and we find ourselves in apocalyptic queues above mephitic and polluting off-road vehicles, in the only existing narrow road.
It is clear that there is neither the right infrastructure, nor the will to organize everything also thinking about the quality of the visit, as well as the economic revenue.
Summing up: the place is really beautiful but loses its magic because of the havoc that takes place every day, from about 1.00 in the morning.

• Bromo Mountains is an ideal place for anyone who calls himself a travel lover
• starts with land travel using regular transport units available from nearby cities in the eastern Java region such as Surabaya or Malang
• then upon arrival at the meeting point the regular tsb vehicles will stop and we will use local transportation i.e. the Jeep Bromo to head to the next point at certain spots where we will start the hiking journey to get the sunrise view we want ..
• where at that momentum our adrenaline is tested for the tracks of climbing in groups or individuals along with the cold weather that is strong enough along with the whistling winds that greet us on our journey..
Everything we've been through will be paid to get an amazing view of the momentum of the sunrise.

It was the most significant experience lived throughout the island of Java. Some Indonesians on the island of Lombok also told us that "bromine is Java." The sight of the crater smoking there a few steps away and being so majestic, is something priceless. I will always remember the sound of smoke coming out of the volcano incessantly.
The only difficulty is that you arrive by jeep at a medium distance from the crater and it is not exactly comfortable.
Then yes, there are the mid-height vendors and those who propose the horse ride. But the climb of the steps and the crater are pristine and those who love nature can not miss this unique spectacle!

Have seen some negative reviews of Bromo. Yes you’ll have to get up early and yes you’ll be standing around in the dark for an hour or so before sunrise, but when the sun comes up the view is amazing. One of the best things I’ve been privileged to see.
I do question whether you need to be there for sunrise. You could get there at 9.30am and probably have the place to yourself but either way it is spectacular.

We got up at 1.45 to be able to be in a panoramic point where you can see the sunrise on the Bromo but it was worth it because the view is breathtaking. Then you descend to the caldera to climb directly to the crater and again there are spectacular views. Only problem the flood of people with blocked roads but in the end remains the wonderful experience.

We have the tour at dawn. It seemed to be in a nightmare .. thousands of jeeps carrying on tourists, polluting and all in line starting at two in the morning. Eight hours of hiking at least three are queuing up breathing in the exhaust fumes of mopeds and Jeeps. I would absolutely avoid this tour. Beautiful place but trap for tourists. it is very cold at the top because it also blows a lot of wind. 3 hours outdoors at 7° with wind.

We visited Bromo as part of a 2 night trip, with nighttime starts for sunrise viewings of Bromo and Ijen. While the trip was well organised, I would have completely skipped Bromo had anyone warned me about the treatment of horses on the site.
The sunrise view is from one of 3 distant ridges, where you are taken from a meeting point to a viewing area by one of a hoard of jeeps. The hundreds (not kidding) of jeeps then move to a parking area where you walk around half a mile, across sandy/dusty terrain to the volcano's base. The top is reached by a steep set of steps.
What ruined the experience for me was the use of horses for the transportation of people from the jeeps to the volcano base and vice versa. The horses are largely painted, or have their manes dyed pastel colours and are physically in a poor state. The owners ride them hard to get back and forth between points and some of the horses were struggling to even stand without pain. If you can't cross the dusty plain, you won't be able to manage the climb to the top. To be honest the top isn't that great away, it's the waiting for the sunrise view that's the experience.
PLEASE DON'T USE THE HORSES. COMPLAIN TO YOUR TOUR GUIDE OR JUST DON'T VISIT THE BASE AREA UNTIL THEY CHANGE THEIR USE.
I watched 3 very healthy, young, but arrogant, people (one tall blonde male, one with long blonde hair and one dark-haired girl with rolled-up jean bottoms and a leather jacket), haggle a ride down to a disgustingly low price. Each of them was dressed in a way that suggested wealth, with designer sunglasses etc, and each preened and selfied themselves as their horses trembled, unnoticed and unappreciated beneath them. It turned my stomach and brought tears to my eyes. I wanted to photograph them for this review, but didn't want to give the horse owners any indication that I thought it was a good part of the trip.
We told our guide that had we been warned of this, there was no way we'd have booked this part of the trip. He said quite a lot of his guests feel that way.

Peux tu me dire avec quelle agence que tu as booké ton forfait ?
Si je comprends bien, un chauffeur est venu te chercher au terminal de train de Surabaya, pour vous amener au village de Cemoro Lawang ?
De plus, vous aviez le tour au Mont Bromo en Jeep ?
Il vous a ramené à Surabaya ou il y avait possibilité de se faire amener à Kawah Ijen ?

I'm planning to visit Bali in February end and was planning to visit Bromo. I'm traveling with my wife and our 7-month old infant. Is it safe for her?
Rather on a scale of "Please, don't do it" to "it's tough, but ok" to "Aah ok. Just be safe, it should be fine", where would you rate it?
If it's the second or third, what are the precautions needed?

Be careful, the weather will be very cold there, especially for babies, I do not recommend bringing a baby in such cold weather. Stay safe dude & have a great vacation!!

I reserved a tour for some days to Mt Bromo, Tumpak Sewu and Ijen bluefire.
The company I checked online is called BROMO-TOUR. COM and their website is the following one: htt ps: // bromo-tour. com
Does anyone already reserved something with them ? Are they reliable ?
I didnt pay anything yet and they answer me that I would only pay the driver that will pick us up in Malang Train Station on the 1st day.
