We did our last ride of our boat and bike tour this morning. Under 20km on the island of Šolta. It was quite beautiful. The highlight was a stop at the top of the island where we had a very informative and very entertaining presentation by a third generation Beekeeper named Goran.
Goran identified the vital importance of bees, especially honey bees to the survalival of our planet. He had us laughing a lot with his entertaining, though well grounded, factual presentation. If you make it to Šolta make sure you visit. Buy some of their wonderfulproducts and take in this amazing, informative and fun presentation...

Our bike tour stopped here as it was near the top of the hill. I thought that I knew most things about bees, but what a surprise! Goran gave a great energetic presentation, and taught our group so much. We had such a great time that our bike guides had to cut us off and send us back on the road. Tvrdic Honey is definitely worth a stop. For me it was the highlight of Šolta!

Goran gave a very entertaining and informative talk on bees and their products. I walked away feeling educated and motivated to help save the bees. And the honey tasting was great, too!

The tour itself was a delightful and enlightening experience. Goran and his wife Nataša are the embodiment of passion and knowledge when it comes to beekeeping. With three generations of honey-making under their belt, the stories and insights they shared were both fascinating and heartwarming. As a fellow beekeeper, I found a kindred spirit in Goran. Our discussions were rich and engaging, and he generously offered to stay in touch, extending his expertise for any future bee-related queries or challenges I might face.

This was by far our best experience in our Croatian (Split) adventure.
Our host was kind, considerate and passionate about his life with his honey bees on Solta. He engaged with our two sons, aged 9 and 11, with humour and an intensity for his subject that transfixed the children and provided them with so much knowledge and enthusiasm that they will carry with them back in the UK.

visited with my family on a tour with Robert Aronson. Goran and his wife Natasha are wonderful and knowledgeable. would recommend to anyone seeking a unique tour in a beautiful location. very educational and the honey is fantastic!

We booked this as a family of 4. Goran the owner made a special provision of starting before opening due to the exceptional hot weather Solta is experiencing, so we wouldn't get too uncomfortably hot.
Goran explains the life, history and use of bees and the importance of them in an easy to understand way so that even our young children were engaged.
We left with hands full of fantastic products all produced by Goran.
Our children were able to make beeswax candles and try different honeys. We got to sample raw honeycomb, propolis tinctures, pollen honey and many more beautiful and delicious things.
Goran was a gentleman whose passion for bees is captivating and contagious.
If in Solta or Split I highly recommend a visit.

Goran's presentation was fun, lively and education. You can also taste different types of honey and buy souvenirs. Its a must!

I was in Croatia in 2018, and bought a jar of red honey at a farmer's market. It was great! But I've been unable to find it on the internet. It was in a jar with the "Granite" printed on it, which could mean it's related to pomegranite. Does anyone know where I might be able to get another jar? I obviously won't be traveling any time soon, so it will be a while before I get back to Croatia...

HI Gwen, I was wondering if you recall how you found or contacted Robert who helped make this arrangement? Out of all the comments, your experience sounds lovely, even being met at the ferry by the owner and taken to the olive oil farm. It also sounds affordable! Thanks for any information you can recall.
