It's near to Gwalior fort so that you can visit for architecture. Compound has peacocks. We can't go into the temple as it was full of bats (scary)..

A most unusual temple : nobody seems to agree when it was build (but at least 1,000 years old), it's a mixture of styles and different influences. It certainly was destroyed by invading Muslim forces (see defaced idols), but re-build and extensively restored by later Hindu rulers. Finally, late 19th century, an officer of the Royal Scots Regiment, took it upon himself to shore up the temple, as it was in danger of collapse.
The tall doorway of the temple is bordered by some nicely sculptured figurines.
The temple sits in a well maintained garden and it pays to walk around it.

After completing the visit of Gwalior fort we visited this monument of India's ancient heritage. it is Mandir or Temple, which does not have any idol for worship and is housed within the Gwalior fort complex. It is the highest and one of the oldest structures in Gwalior. Its height is believed to be about 100 feet high and is really an architectural beauty built in Dravidian and Buddhist style. It was probably a temple of Lord Shiva and was believed to have been damaged during the rule of Moghul emperor Aurangzeb. Later during British rule two English engineers renovated it and restored many stone carvings built on the walls of the structure. In recent times the archeological department has installed pillars and beams inside the mandir to avoid its fall and save the structure from further damage. The entry ticket for the fort entitles the visitors to get free entry to this monument also.

An architecture marvel. Although the name suggests a Mandir (temple), dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu, there is no idol inside to pray. However the architecture of the complex is truly splendid, said to be in the Gurjara-Pratihara -Gopagiri style

One need to show the fort ticket for the entrance. The temple is tall and has nice architecture. There is ample amount of car parking space outside. The security sometimes explain you about the temple and its your wish if you want to pay him as per your wish.
The temple has huge dome but there is nothing in main sanctum. The internal sanctum is dark and filled with very strong smell of bats (it directly enters your throat). The ASI should do something about this.
There are few carved and designed pieces of stone which are kept in lawn outside this temple.

MUST Know - Ticket Compulsory , ON LINE TICKET ON ticket window in Main Gawilor Fort , combined ticket of fort and Teli Temple.
Must Have hat, water bottle , ease shoes for relaxed walking .
Very few visitors came here so most of the time no more tourists jam .
It's a structural and stone decorative carving marvellous building of the Temple. This is a huge 30-35 mts height .
No more sculptures in side the temple , most of them broken down and ruined by Maughal Emperors in their ruling time.
Only outer wall decorating carving and ruined sculptures on them .
Outre garden with ruined parts of carved stones and decorative pieces are presented in a fine manner.

This Hindu temple is near Gwalior Fort. If you visit the Fort it is worth the visit but it is the least impressive of the temples in the area. Maybe I was just suffering temple overload by this point.

A place which looks good with all the beautiful carvings but inside it was smelling of bats! ASI or govt can surely do a better job than just selling tickets.

This is an old temple near Gwalior Fort. The temple is made in South Indian Style. Nothing specific to see here. I took few photographs here and moved on.
