In the delightful month of March 2021, two of my adventurous comrades and I embarked on a thrilling escapade with the esteemed "Josh Tours." Our destination? The majestic Hingol National Park in the Lasbela district of Balochistan, traversing the mesmerizing Makran Coastal Highway. Words alone cannot encapsulate the sheer wonderment of this expedition; you must feel it to truly comprehend its splendor.
Picture this: a highway masterfully carved through formidable mountains, and these aren't just any mountains! Oh no, they are a testament to nature's artistic prowess, boasting shapes and rock formations that will leave you utterly astounded. Take, for instance, the "Princess of Hope," a natural rock formation that eerily resembles a girl standing tall like the Statue of Liberty. And then there's the Sphinx – yes, you read that correctly – a Sphinx! But here's the kicker: I witnessed something so extraordinary that people find it hard to believe. On a sheer mountainside, in the heart of it all, I spotted an enormous human foot imprint. I kid you not!
But the adventure didn't stop there; we made our way to the breathtaking Kund Malir Beach. Oh, what a gem it is! We spent the night there, gazing at the star-studded sky, a celestial masterpiece, while the beach stretched out before us – pristine, with waters as blue as the heavens. We camped out and indulged in some mouthwatering barbecue. And if that's not enough, there were plenty of beach activities to keep us entertained.
Oh, but wait, there's more! A mere 125 kilometers from Kund Malir Beach lies the enchanting Ormara Beach. It's still on my bucket list, but I've heard whispers that it surpasses even Kund Malir in beauty. On the way, you'll encounter a mud volcano that's well worth a visit.
The distance between Kund Malir Beach and Karachi is 240 kilometers. So, if you're up for the journey, the Makran Coastal Highway, the Princess of Hope, Kund Malir Beach, and the mud volcano are all part of the splendid Hingol National Park experience.
But my wanderlust doesn't end there! A mere 280 kilometers further from Ormara Town lies Gwadar, a place I'm itching to explore soon.
Our group tour came at a mere cost of 3,500 PKR back in March 2021, which is now roughly 11.95 USD. This covered our culinary needs (dinner and breakfast), transportation, and camping arrangements. The group was top-notch; their professionalism was truly commendable. Special kudos to our group leader, Huzaifa, who took stellar care of us throughout the journey.
Now, while public buses do ply this route, don't expect them to whisk you away to the beach or escort you to see the Princess of Hope. They're mainly shuttling between Karachi and Gwadar and cost no more than 3,000 PKR or 10.24 USD. A stopover at Ormara is included, but for the full Hingol National Park experience, I wholeheartedly recommend joining a dedicated tour.
In conclusion, dear fellow wanderers, I implore you to embark on this remarkable adventure. It's a journey that will leave you spellbound and yearning for more.

The scenery is very unusual. Like being on the moon.
Late afternoon heading to Ormara beach you can get great shots of the colorful Bedford trucks slowly making their way up and down the winding road. They are usually very overloaded and accidents are common so be very careful driving near them.
For security reasons, foreigners need a NOC (No Objection Certificate) to travel to Balochistan.

Starting at 3.5 to 4 hours from Karachi is the most fascinating landscape of Hingol National Park. Starting from Hingol River, the mountains are steep and rocky but just in few kms after Kund Malir, the landscapes suddenly changes to weird mud features that, over the millennia, have been carved by water into strange shapes resembling different animals and even a lady called "Princess of Hope". Hingol National Park is also a sanctuary for Sind Ibex and Blandford Urial. The Coastal Highway snakes through the national park majestically, revealing fascinating landscapes on both sides. You can find few shops in Kund Malir area and at another spot. Better to carry your own water and snacks. The is very well protected by security forces.

Almost 4 hrs drive from Karachi and you will reach here. Kund Amalie beach, Golden beach, princess of hope landmark and the mud volcano. Spent 2 days but had fun time. Ensure you have enough water and snacks/fruit.

The park is a treasure to behold.....photoes cannot capture the essence of the place. The statue of the Princess of Hope is a tiny speck compared to the grandeur of the ancient palaces near it...carved and majestically looking over the road as you pass.
From the beautiful, clean beaches to the awe inspiring mud volcano....the trip to this wonderful treasure of Pakistan is a treasure trove of amazing sights!
Enroute to the Hingol National Park and also a little beyond are some amazing beaches of Balochistan which are worth seeing too.
Tip: Go with a reliable Tour operator as the roads need an experienced driver and also due to lack of petrol pumps in the area it’s best to have someone who knows the place. Toilet facilities are extremely limited and basic...major upgrade required on that front in order to encourage tourism. Plus there are security concerns in the area so regular stops will have to be made for checking by the Pak army..slightly inconvenient but definitely makes you feel safer!:)

Hingol national park is a magical wonderful place that more people should be aware of.
It has been my dream to visit Hingol National Park since I saw photos of it at Freya Hall 2 years ago. I have spent the last two years planning the visit and was really amazing.
I traveled out with a driver, 1 Male cousin, my mother and aunty. We found there were plenty of small rest stops at about 10 mile intervals, and we saw a lot of other family. I will say all the people now visiting have shown the rugged, wild beauty of Hingol Park with a great deal of disrespect in all the rubbish you see littering the main attractions.
I found the beauty of the landscape, inspiring, haunting and utterly delightful.

First thing first it is a great drive from Karachi to Coastal Highway, where often sea and highway go hand in hand , Hingol National Park the largest in Pakistan , Hinglaj Mandir one of the three Shakti Peetha found in Pakistan, Mud Volcanoes, beautiful beach of Ormara,The terrain is a cross btw Grand Canyon, Monument Valley,Cappadocia, Some times scenery changes and it felt you are standing in front of the Great pyramid of Eygpt

A long drive may take you to this place, but there is not much to hang around. Your company may play a vital role in your enjoyment. A good place for photography and aloners. Must take your camp with you if you wish to spend a night.

Is it safe for just me and my husband to visit Hingol on our own? Is it doable in a day? If not where can one stay and what are the facilities available.
Thanks in advance 🙏🏼

Some websites mention that you need a NOC (no objection certificate) to visit Hingol NP as a foreigner since it is located in Balochistan. Is this correct? If so, where would I get such a NOC?

They used to ask for NOC. Now foreigners are allowed without NOC.

I would not recommend any place in or around Kund Malir beach unless it is a gated beach hut of someone you know personally. Usually Kund Malir is a day's trip from Karachi or Gwadar depending on where you start your journey. I would also go as far as to say that Kund Malir is not that great, there are better beaches after Kund Malir especially Ormara which is cleaner and the naval base area beach is great.

Thank you for your fantastic review. Would you be able to advise regarding travel to the region from Lahore/Islamabad incl by air/train? Do you know of any reliable local guide who it would be useful to avail of and their contact number(s)? Any advice for visiting in December? Thank you so much for your help.

If you want to rent out car I can arrange or otherwise Daewoo Bus Service is best option.
