hi Diana July is the best time to visit this nat park, but of course this area is high which means you have to be ready for any weather conditions, frequent change of the weather which will never stay for long time if it does it will stay for one day but first two weeks of July is the most predicted rain then it's fine. Water proof clothes is insisted with extra underwear, wearing shorts fine when you are far from the locals but I suggest you to wear light trousers, if you do trekking or hiking, or horse riding the trousers would be best idea. have good trip

Hi there, we have been there for about 2 weeks twice with Bluewolf travel agency and highly recommended it. Late September it was little chilly but we were just fine staying both yurts and tents for the whole trip. As there are 2 eagle festivals, blue wolf organizes the one in September and funds it. First time i went there alone, then i asked them if there was anyone willing to travel together and share the cost of the tour. They introduced me to a Japanese woman, who happened to also traveling like me alone. So we got along great, she went there the next year and so did I with 4 of my friends, who are professional photographers and had another great tour with the Bluewolf. They are the first and longest operating tour operator in the bayan-ulgii. In October, it gets colder sometimes so bring warmer coats as well. It may even snow. I could send you pictures of our tour, if you want just leave your email. We have been to the altai mountains and tsambagarav mountains and more. Great place to visit and we were totally satisfied.

I used Khongor Expeditions in Ulaanbaatar for my ground arrangements incl. booking the Aero Mongolia flight. I dealt with Semy - Khongor Expedition. If you do intend to use their services, please be sure to tell them that Yolanda Saayman recommended you. I was going to go back this year, but being South African with the Rand depreciating so much, I am unable to make the trip. Please also note that I travel on a budget, do not expect luxury in the mountains. The Daggis will take well care of you - great guides, know the locals en-route and you won't starve!
