The tour guide was very knowledgeable and did not rush us at all when we had questions. Easy walking path, hat with light to see everything, and was a nice break from the hot sun. Wear pants and sweater if you don't like the cold.

The Bellevue Underground Mine (BUM! - the grandsons loved that name!) was an amazing experience that our multi-generational group (aged 9-65) all thoroughly enjoyed. We gave it a 10 out of 10! The tour guide was fun and knowledgeable (able to answer all questions). The cold hit us right off the start but that was a unique part of the experience. Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed the tour, nice and cool in the mine, and all the displays around the site. Our guide was very knowledgeable . Interesting wearing the miners hat and lamp to explore the mine.

Approximately 1 hour tour with a dedicated tour guide who is knowledgeable and shared what it would have been like to be a coal miner in 1903. The temperature in the mine is about 2 degrees, helmets and helmet lamp is provided and required. Interesting visit. Pricing on the web site is not correct and currently $25.00 per adult for the summer season. Talking with the mine operator it is recommended to book a tour ahead of your visit to be sure your spot is reserved.

What a great thing to do and I learned so much. I've always wanted to see what a mine looks like. My son (11 years old) loved it. It was raining one day of our trip, so we though, what a great time to go underground, no rain there. We went in with shorts and 3 layers of cloths. (Better pack pants if you plan this out), coz it's 0 degrees celsius in the mine. The tour was amazing, and so informative. I loved it, my kid also enjoyed the coal, and we bought a few rocks!

We did this tour on July 1, a very hot day, We booked the tour online for two a couple weeks ahead. We were sent a reply email giving us guidance and recommendations to be prepared for the tour. They recommend to dress warmly. Do it! I wore capris and t-shirt and brought a zip up hoodie. It is cold in the mountain, like, see your breath cold. Wear closed toe shoes. It is wet in the mountain and wet feet plus cold is not fun.
The guide was very informative and answered all questions. The tour takes approximately an hour. This gives you an appreciation of how hard men worked in a dangerous environment.
If you have kids that are scared of the dark...don't take them in.

Went here the other day with my husband and quite enjoyed the tour! Ethan was very knowledgeable about the history of the mine and the surrounding area. Ethan also provided random facts that made it very interesting. Definitely a cool tour to check out! It was a very hot day, but knew the mine was quite cold (roughly plus 2 degrees) and threw sweatpants and a hoodie over top.

A very cool (literally) tour. The tour was very interesting and gave a lot of information about mine history in the valley. It was cool to see parts of it fully restored. The guide was very informative and knew her stuff. The tour was about an hour long, and you do end of walking quite a ways into the mine. I would HIGHLY recommend wearing a sweater and a jacket. It's get quite cool (just above zero). If your not prepared you will get cold.

This was a well organized and operated tour. It gives a fascinating snapshot of what the underground coal mines in Alberta operated like in the first half of the 20th century. We pre-booked a spot at 10 AM opening, not knowing how busy it would be, and I am glad we did. They provide all of the necessary safety equipment, and walk us 1,000 feet into the mine. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the mine's history and operation. This is a family friendly tour, with a number of children on our tour, which the mine was able to properly equip. The only caution is the temperature, as the mine states the temperature is 0ºC at the farthest point in the tour. They were not kidding, as the thermometer read +2ºC in the mine. Very entertaining and educational. The tour took about 75 minutes. Highly recommended!!
