Cross Key Reserve is a large park, used for soccer and cricket. It has a new pavilion, which also caters for females. The Moonee Ponds Creek flows through the reserve, which connects to the Five Mile Creek Reserve. The Moonee Ponds CreekTrail goes through Cross Key Reserve; the trail is suitable for hikers and cyclists. Cross Key Reserve is popular with dog walkers; part of the reserve is off-leach.

The reserve behind the pub of the same name is mostly there for the soccer fields. The lawns are extensive, but the facilities are mainly for organised sport. The Moonee Ponds Creek and its walking/cycling trail pass right by.

The new Cross Keys sports pavilion was erected in just four weeks; it was pre-fabricated off site. The pavilion is mainly for use by soccer and cricket teams. Participation rates in sport have shot up recently, particiulrly among females. The pavilion aims to cater for all genders; it is a good-looking building. The Moonee Valley City Council has big plans for the Cross Keys Reserve; it's a large regional park, over 8 hetcares (20 acres). It's a favorite place for dog walkers. The pavilion can be hired by community groups, it's not excuslviely fo sport.

Cross Keys Reserve is in Woodlands Street, near the corner of Pascoe Vale Road, behind the Cross Keys Hotel. During the winter, the Cross Keys Reserve is mainly used as a football ground for Australian Rules Football. The Cross Keys Reserve is also a popular place for dog walkers.

Not a lot more to say, its a big park. I did Strathmore midgets football there when I was a young lad and so did my son. Most recent claim to fame was an underbelly hit in the carpark.

It is somewhat ironic that notorious gangster Jason Moran and an associate were shot dead execution style in June 2003 at Cross Keys Reserve. The cross keys are traditionally the symbol of St Peter, first bishop of Rome, the guardian of the gates of heaven. Cross Keys Reserve is favourite venue for young footballers. Parts of it are also an off-leash park for dogs, though there are no fences around it and the surrounding roads are quite busy. On the whole, pooches have sufficient space to run. The reserve also adjoins the venerable Cross Keys Hotel..

When I called by it was set up for soccer, with multiple pitches prepared. There is little shade, just large expanses of lawn. There are pavilions for teams to change, but little shelter from the elements. There is plenty of car parking available. At the eastern end there is the Moonee Ponds Creek, which offers walks and some nature.
