With my wife, I went to Ramappa Haritha resort in Dec 22 and felt excited to see the fine architecture and and magnificent structural design of this Ramappa heritage site. The nearby Ramappa lake of another great attraction with boating and scenic views. Haritha resort nearby is the only place for stay with lake facing cotteges and rooms. Nice place to enjoy in Northern Telangana region.

Outstanding piece of architecture and scuplture .A World Heritage Site.

The temple top structure is made of floating stones (light weight) the technology for which was available in India 800 years back !! It was patented by swedish in modern era only in 1929!! Detailed 3D sculpture was amazing ...from smallest size to very big statues.
Unfortunately neither the local or central govts provided proper access to the place from nearest rail head Warangal(60 km ).

We came across this wonderful tuk tuk/auto driver (Mahender Ph: 9440406453) who drove us on a very decent road and back to Warangal .It was very smooth enjoyable 2hr30min ride (each way) with stops for eating fresh corn on fire and drinking coconut water on the way !!The weather in Aug was quiet pleasant (did not rain).

Highly exciting experience , feel prud to be a Telugu while visitng the temple.Highly exciting experience , feel proud to be a Telugu while visiting the temple. It is understandable that photography was restricted in the sanctum sanctorum. There were a maze of electric wires preventing closure view architecture of the temple. It is perplexing why the remaining two sanctum sanctorums are not opened yet . Not even a glass of safe drinking water was available nearby.

Ramappa Temple is only the temple which is named after the Sculptor who built temple. This temple is of Ramalingeswara Swamy, but is was named after a craftsmen (Ramappa) who built it.

This temple is located in Palampet Village on the bank of the Ramappa lake, which is around 70 km away from Warangal Town and around 210 km away from Hyderabad. it was built in the year of 1213 CE by Kakatiya Rulers

Architecture of Temple:
Ramappa Temple stands on a 6 ft high star-shaped platform. Striking feature of the temple is that bricks which are used in this construction. They are so light that they will float on water. it is said that it took 40 years to complete this temple construction. On should see the marvelous sculptures of the temple top side which are having different positions and different meanings.
Maha Mandapam also called as Main hall is supported by four pillars curved with elaborated detailing's. Most Imposing secrets of this Hall is it's Roof, which is engraved with beautiful Shiva Purana details.
Two small Shiva Shrines are located on either side of the main Temple. Nandi Mandapam is there at Front side of the temple. This Nandi is Special one and observe the same then you will find that it sits with position that left leg is in a position that ready to move and waiting for the lord message.

During your visit ask for guide help who will explain all these marvelous architecture details.

We planned our Warangal trip in one day. we started from Hyderabad in the morning and reached to Warangal by 09:00 am. Then visited Thousand pillar's Temple, Badrakali Temple, Warangal Fort and Eka Shila Park.
After lunch we visited this temple and planned to Laknavaram Cheruvu. But due to traffic Jam and Parking full at Laknavaram we returned to Hyderabad without visiting Laknavaram Lake

Near warangal in Telangana state. Built by the kaktiyas. The symettry and exquisite carvings leave you spellbound. A single stone column gives 7 different sounds. A huge nandi beckons the visitors. The carvings around the temple can best be explained by sekhar, the local guide. It's a must visit place
