Extremely happy with professional staff at the dive shop. Pepe was my dive master for my 6 dives, and he is extremely experienced, safe and professional. Great diving, saw so many nurse/reef sharks, spotted eagle rays and an abundance of fish. Will be returning!

So the bad news was that on my first dive I had difficulty equalizing on decent. That seemed to be clearing up but then turned into vertigo and nausea. I flagged the divemaster (a great guy named Israel) who got me to the surface, flagged the boat (which was waiting down the reef as we were on a drift dive) and made sure I was bouyant, breathing and under control. The boat crew took great care of me through the dizziness and barfing, got me to shore, made sure that there was a record of things on file, and gave me directions to the clinic where I could get checked out.
The clinic examined me, determined that my ear canal was inflamed, gave me cortisone drops for my ear and a shot of Gravol in my backside for the barfing and told me to keep the ear dry for a week. They also advised me that I should try snorkelling before diving again. A week later I snorkelled without issues. The day after that I dove again with the same folks. They greeted me like family and kept a close eye on me but there were no problems. We saw sharks, we saw rays, we saw groupers, grunts, angels, damsels, anemones, sponges, hermit crabs, conchs and a wide variety of corals. It was windy and a bit rough, but I was pretty pleased just to be back in the water.
I had originally booked a 10 dive package. I was only charged for the three dives I made.

I booked a 6 dive package and i dove mostly with Abel who was great fun and good company, he spoke good english, Italian and obvs Spanish.
Every dive we went on we seen Shark, either reef or nurse shark, also Eagle Ray, Big grouper, Baracuda, Jacks, Wrass, Lobster, a multitude of reef fish, Octopus, the list goes on, the only thing i didn't check of the list was Turtle, but between dives you would see them come to the surface and some of the snorklers would occasionally see them.
The Captain and co-Captain were also fantastic, all the guys would go out of their way to make sure you were happy and enjoying yourself.
I am a Padi DM and would defo recommend Marlin Cayo, after reading some of the previous reviews, i can safely say they did not dive with this group of professionals, thank you to all the guys for the memories and i will definately come back, the diving was awesome :)

Don't dive there! worse experience ever! The Captain actually forgot us in the water! And we floated at the surface in 5-6' waves for a good 15-20 minutes screaming to try to wake up the Captain! Plus they took us to a diving spot where the sea was very rough and we could barely get back on the boat and the only man who could help us was very old and couldn't himself stand on his own feet. Thank god for other divers that actually help on. I got seasick so bad I couldn't i couldn't dive the days after to complete my diving package. And when i ask to be reimburse for the dives we didn't do they said no! EVEN THOUGHT THE AIR TRANSAT REPRESENTATIVE ASSURED US WE COULD CANCELLED ANY DIVES FOR ANY REASONS. We got rob for 200$USD.
Je ne recommande la base de plongé a la marina. Nous avons vecu un des pires expérience en plongée. Comme nous oublier a la surface dans de vagues de 5' et nous devions crier et siffler pour réveiller la Capitaine. Sans compté que nous avions aucune aide sur la bateau. Apres avoir eu le mal de mer nous demandé un remboursement pour les plongées non faite. Et ils nous refusé. Je doit d'ailleurs aviser Air Transat que sont représentant nous avait bien dit que nous pouvions canceller comme on voulais pour n’importe quel raisons. PLONGÉ A CETTE ENDROIT A VOS RISQUES ET PÉRILS

7th time diving at the MARLIN dive center. While it’s not Cozumel reefs nor Belize or Roatan, it was very enjoyable.
Many thanks to all, did 10 beautiful dives with CINTHYA, GUERRA and ABEL. They are safery minded and very professional dive masters.

Si visitas Cayo Largo del Sur. No te pierdas visitar la Isla Iguanas, llegas en Catamaran a un lugar poblado de iguanas, es una experiencia increible e inolvidable.

It's a 10 minute bus ride or taxi from Sol, CAYO Largo. It's at the Marina.
I saw no wrecks.
Cheaper if you have your own gear. Yes.

1）how many flights are there daily from havana to cayo largo and vice versa
2）My flight from havana will arrive in cayo largo at 740am .Will I be able to dive in the afternoon ?

Hi,
1) I don't know. We came straight to Cayo Largo and stayed there.
2)The boat goes in the morning about 9 a.m. You need to be there, a little bit earlier, to fill the papers and pay. Probably, it will be a good idea to phone them earlier to book the place, just to make sure that you have place. The problem is that they go in the morning for two dives. Sometimes, they go again in the afternoon, but it depends how many divers they have. The best is to stay in Cayo Largo and dive from there. They come to the hotel every morning to pick you up.

Do they schedule 2-tank dives in the am or do we have to stay on the boat for a 2nd dive in the afternoon?

Usually, they go for two dives. You can choose the first, the second or both dives. You have to stay on a boat. There is an hour break between dives. The boat leaves the marina about 9 am and comes back between 1-2 pm. It depends how far they go.
