So the park itself is both beautiful and iddilic but all of this is unfortunately ruined by the frustration of parking.
The Ringo App is not disability friendly and is very confusing/difficult to use, and is also
not suitable for older people such as my grandparents who have also struggled with
this app along with their friends.
This lovely park and all its inhabitants need money to maintain their habitats and the grounds, but unfortunately people are starting to no longer visit due to the parking issues which is a massive shame.
For £1.50 it's a ridiculously large amount of hassle, and we even had to ring up the company in the end for the location code as the app did not recognize the car park or it's location!
This really does need to be reviewed and changed, otherwise sadly I think this hidden jem will remain just that, hidden.

Used to go to sense valley 2 or 3 times per week, for a little walk and stretch my legs.great to see wild life, and speak to other wildlife people...That was until greed from the council kicks in by charging a daily fee which can only be paid by phone..as if they don't get enough money from us from council tax..visitors are now parking in local housing estate, and verges, me included to avoid greedy council fees.

We have visited this park monthly until late last year for many years. In October I had a serious accident resulting in mobility issues so have not visited until today. It is a lovely area with relaxing walks. As my fitness has improved and I am able to take short walks on rough surfaces my wife and I decided on a picnic tea. Imagine our disappointment when we found a £1.50 parking charge ALL DAY. Great if you want to stay a few hours but our stay would only be an hour at most. Happy to pay a fair price eg 20p a hour but £1.50 is a RIP OFF.

inpromptu visit as was in the area looking for something to do. cheap parking at £1.50 paid by app. it's a simple enough park. no frills. just a simple nice walk. plenty of benches. didn't see any toilets but there is a building at car park and could be in there but saw no signs.
a few people walking their dogs and a few others and a couple of joggers.
it's quiet and nice enough without being impressive. there's not much else it can do to improve upon except maybe provide a bit of shelter along the route but that's the same with most places like this.

Absolutely disgusting the way dogs are running free off leads and not under proper control. Owners just laugh when you ask them to put their dog on a lead. Mine likes to try to run after other dogs and it's a big dog, one day I might let it off the lead and let it run after their precious little pooch then see them laugh. I've lived in this area for over 25years watched the lakes develop, I've never seen so much dog mess around these days and why people pick it up then hang it in a tree, well that beats it all. So I don't find it a pleasure going down sence valley any more. I have to, to keep my health.

New introduction of parking charges including blue badge holders will kill Sence valley, and the new snack bar recently opened. I am sure that by paying taxes we are contributing to the upkeep of this area, without the need for an extra charge, and the inconvenience of having to use a phone to pay is ridiculous, i can not pay with my phone and have seen many others turn round and leave because they are in the same situation, or are blue badge holders and are disgusted by the charge imposed. Shame on you.

I have visited several times and called in recently on 9th August. I was surprised to see only three cars in the car park and commented to my wife how unusual this was as it was a very sunny afternoon. As I parked I noticed new signs have been erected with pay by phone parking. It's only £1.50 for the day and free for members which is very reasonable, however I had left my phone at home so considered whether to risk the £50 fine as I had travelled over 20miles to get there. I decided not. So as not to waste the afternoon Sunnyside Garden Centre is less than 5 minutes away. There's no parking fee, no fine for parking without paying and I didn't need to be a member. They served a superb all day breakfast and the best coffee I have had for a long time. Not a completely wasted afternoon but no thanks to the Forestry Commission.

We enjoyed a brief visit to this country park there was plenty of free parking. There was a toilet block but it was closed.
It was quite empty when we visited and we enjoyed a pleasant walk on a well laid out path through a woodland area.

Absolutely love this place! Only discovered recently as we'd moved from Birmingham to Hugglescote, a stones throw away from here. Great walks for our dogs and for us too! Cant wait to see it in all its glory in the spring 2021.
Unfortunately I cant include any photos , as message keeps saying 'file size too large' 🙄 so you'll have to take my word for how lovely it is !

The website mentions fishing in the facilities section, but that is all the information I can find on it. Anyone know if fishing is permitted anywhere within the park where there is water, or if it is specific locations only?
I'm wanting to target the river and streams mainly with small lures.

No there isn’t but it is a perfect picnic place if you wanted to eat/drink there. Or it’s not far from Ibstock where there are some good chippies, I can recommend vinnys.
