I took my dad and his wife for a picnic here. What a lovely community rich with history. The people were friendly as we had a gentleman ask if we were from the area. He mentioned if we wanted to see any of the buildings to ask as we would need an escort. The prices at the Tea House were crazy expensive ($25/person for lunch). Yikes!!!! But it was quaint and clean. But the road to the community was awful. The province needs to re-pave it as we did not want to continue on to Fort Pitt.

Very impressed with the quality of this museum!! It has been developed by many dedicated local residents over the years to where it has been rated as the best small town museum in Saskatchewan. It is opem May long weekend through the summer. The second Sunday in August they hold the Annual Museum Festival. It is a great event to attend if you are in the area and on your way to the close by Saskatchewan's Lakeland Country. The museum even has a full-service campground and a beautiful log cabin tea house on site. I attended the museum festival and it was a nostalgic event reminding me of gatherings prairie communities had long ago. Very Cool!!

We had visited the national historic site a little ways out of town and then visited the museum. The staff give a great explanation of the history and the artifacts contained in the museum itself as well as the 3 other buildings contained on the site, the old train station, school and old original house from 100 years ago. The staff were great, the displays are exceptional and the town itself is pretty. There is a tea room and mini golf there as well incorporating local people in the various tees. Fantastic! The only downside I saw was, although there is a tea room, there does not appear to be an ability to buy a sandwich or lunch there - that would have been a perfect end to our visit. Great staff and lovely town.

This is a very remote location in North West of Saskatchewan. I did not find the museum but visited the heritage site instead. If you like history and learning about it, you will enjoy this site. I'm sure the museum has tonnes of info and artifacts. I wish I located the museum.
There are some trails that all connected to each other so chances of you getting lost in the woods are very slim. When you reach the rock, your view opens up to the hillside and get to see the once battle ground. In summer time, there are lots of bugs though.
I brought my dogs there with me and when I got there, there was a family picnicking at the entrance. I don't think this place sees many visitors. This nice family jokingly warned me about black bears. Based on surroundings, that's probably a real possibility.
