Scuba diving in Diani was on my bucket list when I traveled to Kenya. After a brief Google search, I concluded that "Diving the Crab" was the best option for the experience. A day prior to the dive, they conducted the practical course, and on the day of the dive, we completed two dives, each lasting an hour. All in all, I can only say that it was an impressive experience. The professional and certified team at Diving the Crab will ensure that the moment is memorable.

Dive Base on Chale Island. Very helpful and friendly staff, always with a smile. Especially Master of Station Athumani, Divemasters Hamadi, Evans and Caro.
Good rental equipment, quality dives. Always felt safe and sound, even with a lot of current / surge. Diveguides point out animals very well. Good quality of fish live, many mantis shrimp and nudies, also turtles. Nice big sponges, unfortunately not too many corrals, but some. We had a lot of fun, my daughter enjoyed the discovery dives a lot.

Having dived with two PADI operations at Diani Beach The Crab was easily the best of the two (although there was really nothing wrong with the other one). Great service, very helpful and friendly staff and two great dive sites in a morning dive, a wreck and then the Igloo reef, only $130 per person and they even pick you up from the hotel. Very nice modern and spacious dive boat and knowledgeable dive guides. I totally recommend them.

My husband Kevin & I got our PADI Scuba Certification in December 2023 at Diving the Crab. Our instructor and guide Samson was amazingly calm, skilled, and a great teacher. We will be forever grateful. Witnessing a sea turtle in the wild was one of the most incredible moments of my life and definetly THE highlight of our two week Kenya trip. The shop was well organized and accommodating. We loved it so much we just finished up our Open Water certification today in Bermuda!!!

We have done three dive days with them, so in total 6 dives. And we had a lot of fun.
Communication beforehand was good, and booking is easy. They have free pickup and dropoff. The staff in nice, knowledgeable and they have good gear.
I would book again with diving the crab!

Well-equipped small base with lots of staff, actually only for the hotel guests in this comfortable facility on Chale Island, very friendly and helpful. Boat dives with sunshade, drinking water, fruit, coffee and tea during the surface interval, great dive sites, Nitrox for free, the costs are absolutely fair. Top service: EQUIPMENT including bottles is brought on and off board to the base and cleaned and stored from there.

The dive spot was great but the groups were too large for the instructors to be able to manage. On the first dive I immediately lost my group and came back to the surface but the dive instructor didn’t notice meaning I missed my first dive

Je viens de visiter votre site ,et je remarque qu’il n y a aucun prix ni la possibilité de réserver l’une ou l’autre plongée ..
Je viens avec mon épouse en février du 14/2 au 25/2 et elle aimerait beaucoup aimé voir des tortues ..

Hallo Carina,
das weiss ich leider nicht, da ich wie gesagt dort Tauchen war - zumindest bei uns an Bord waren keine schnorchler, aber das muss nichts heissen: einfach mal auf der website den Kontakta uafrufen und nachfragen - die antworten zeitnah und deutsch schreiben ist kein Problem.

Yes 3 mm is good, the average temperature in February is 28 degrees celsius. We also have 5 mm shorties available at the base which you could put on top if you do get cold :)

Hallo,
Wollte eventuell im Oktober auf meiner kenia 🇰🇪 Reise auch unbedingt tauchen, meine frage wird auch deutsch gesprochen auf der Basis ?
Und könnt ihr mir die tauchbasis empfehlen, zu mir bin OWD und hab noch wenig tauchgänge gemacht.
