An average place. The temple on top of the hill is the only attraction. Trek is not really a trek, its a walk on the ramp (ascending). Its not challenging (mild and kids can do it). If one is keen to visit the lakshinarasimha and lakshmi temples on top, then its worth going. Else skip the place.
The roads leading to the foothill is bad. One can even drive the call to the top (2km) for temple visit.
the beak like shape rock is cordoned off. One cant go till there, as some reckless visitors have created nuisance there.
Request to those who visit - Please keep it clean and its a holy shrine, respect the surroundings.

Visited on 19/02/22 in bike ride (90+kms) from Bangalore city. Easy to reach the destination with all enrouted signboard. Felt happy to truck the hill station from down hill parking area. Could able to spent few hours on the hills around. Post trucking we arrived at temple entrance.again 100+ steps will take you to the temple. Just few minutes walk behind the temple will arrive to view point. Unfortunately cops won't allowed anyone to reach the destination view point due to safety reasons.. Overall was the great day. And don't forget to buy fresh fruits and offers from local people.
Don't litter the place plz. Thank u

Well...a super Sunday on the Avalabetta. This place is very nice for you to enjoy your early mornings with your family and friends. We visited this place on Sunday morning by 11 AM (better to start early morning) parked the car at the foothill. Vehicles are allowed at the top but don not miss the trekking which is not very long. Visited this place with my Husband, son and brother.
Things to keep in mind
1. Carry water along with the caps as it will be sunny.
2. Keep your bag safe if you carrying eatables reason being 100s of Monkeys at the top.
3. If accompanied by kids, please have a eye on them because near the temples there are no safety grills around.
4. Lots of photospots, do not forget to click.
5. The main photo point (overhead rock) is closed due to security reasons.
6. Would be better if you park the vehicle at down or else you will miss the trekking.

Had started the trek early , and reached the top.
Enjoyed the views .
There was a guard stopping the people to visit the so called "Photo point" .
Please visit responsibly , and do not litter, As there has already been enough damage done to the place:(

Just two hours drive from Bangi, this hillock is popular with pilgrims as well as trekkers, though motorable road is available, it's advisable to walk up as it's not very hard, there is an ancient temple located atop, and also mind boggling natural rock formations, don't attempt walk on hanging rock as it's prohibited and also for safety. There are lot of monkeys around,so one has to be careful. The scenery and panoramic views from the top are scintillating and most beautiful.

The protuding rock and the temple are the main attractions. Car parking space is there and you can either trek or drive your car to the bottom of the stairs to the temple. The protuding rock is scary but worth getting few snaps!

This is a nice one day outing. Preferable to go early in the morning. There is ample car park at the entry. Road is good from NH side.
One can take a leisurely walk all the way up. There is shortcut by steps, but I prefer the road route. Less stressful, shade is there and you can view far away. One can also mix the routes. Take enough water and food. Nothing on the way.
Great especially after rainy season

Woww is the ony word for this place and I thanks Karnataka Government to leave it unattended as Rawness is the beauty of this place.
Amazing place and I visited when it was raining and it adds value to the visit. Amazing Journey from Bangalore to this place thru narrow lanes of village.
Sweet people try to help in whatever they can.
you have to park the Car below and start climbing by stairs or normal way. Stairs are short but tiring as many in numbers.
What a View from the top, as it was raining so mist was around and Beak type top is barricaded however one can cross that but not to do during rainy season

Bored by kids forced holidays and wfh, and itching for a ride on new suv, was searching for someplace for a day trip and some exercise for all lazy legs at home, whereby chanced about traveltwosome and found this place along with Dandiganahalli Dam and boy, it did work out really well. Mid-march the temperature does get hot too soon, so ensure you reach as early as possible to enjoy the climb. We started 6.30 from whitefield and took an hour to reach nandi upachar - awesome food, really delicious breakfast makes an awesome day. by the time we reached the base of this hill with google maps, it was almost 9. there is enough parking - infact 2 parkings with some coconut and lemon water vendors only. The gates are locked, but the locals do manage to get it opened for their cars :(. for us souls, hiking was the plan for the day and with caps and sunglasses and 2 big bottles of water (yes, you will need plenty) in backpack, we started the climb. its a proper cemented road till you reach a point of staircases. the buttermilk and lemon water vendors (small kids) told us in hindi that the stairs are a shortcut and the road will add a km. good advise as the stairs have shade while road does not. healthy adults should take 20min to reach with stairs (if you hit road, there is another set of paved way shortcut), with kids add 20-30 min with rests and plenty of water to drink. we reached the first temple and it was almost closing. there was hardly any crowd on sunday morning, few groups of bikers from 2-5 members. mostly peaceful. on the left of the first temple, there is another set of stairs that takes you to the top, which is where you get hte most awesome views - see some pics attached. enjoyed a few minutes of beautiful views and then started back - the vendor kids were persisting to buy, so we did get lime water and buttermilk - it was awesome, even though there were concerns on how hygenic, but it was really good and cheap at 10rs, though they used plastic glasses (but, were collecting it in a box for proper disposal). so awesome hike, great views and good use of sunday. had some good coconut juice at the base and refreshed for next leg of trip to the dam..

Avalabetta Hill Top is 90 Kms away from Kalyan Nagar, Bangalore. This place is a bit hyped about by people. And at the same time, it is good to see the administration closing off the cliff as cracks had came up and it could lead to dangerous accidents. The place is very good. There is a temple at the top and you can also enjoy the scenic view from the top. The locals don't let cars and bikes go to the top unless you are paying a certain amount. Overall a good place to visit.

It's not closed. If you go there you will get access for trekking from a small gate next to the main gate. It has a temple and for which people keep coming in. Worry not and trek.

Access to the cliff is barred by rallings and a guard posted there. Yet one can have view of the cliff and the scenic view from the rallings, which is just close to pond. Only you will miss the thrill of standing on the cliff. There are many view points to view the nature around. Are you Nature Lover, just dash and enjoy your day. May be you can explore more.

Priyansh
Chennai (Madras), India14 bidrag
There is a restriction and it is caged but there are no security guards there so you can easily cross the cage and go to the hill point...
Generally you can visit the hill before it gets dark.

No, it is not a restricted area. Only the cliff edge access(popular for photos) is restricted with a fencing now.
You can hike up the hill by paying an entrance fee of 30 rupees.
