It is not a very big cave, but the specific features (stalactites, stalagmites, rocks, etc.) are quite spectacular, and the route for the tourists is well laid out and maintained.
The cave is very close to the Rasnov fortress, another important tourist attraction in this area.
Bonuses:
- the lighting circuit is designed in such a way as not to disturb the colonies of bats
- the "minute of silence" - when any activity stops, all the lights are turned off, so tourists can listen to the natural sounds of the cave
- the special acoustics of this cave, and, for this reason, the Brasov Philharmonic organizes concerts in the cave.

Very small cave. I recommend going only if you have to pass by. The path through the woods to climb up to the cave is beautiful.

My husband & I went with our 7-yr old child. Climbing the steep hill to get to the entrance of the cave was exhausting (my kid did better than me). Once up at the top, we purchased our tickets from a lady at the booth. We waited for the next tour group entrance time (about 15 minutes). When the guide learned that we speak English, they helpfully set up the audio explanation to be 1st in English, then in Romanian. That part started once we were all inside the cave. It's a quick tour, since the explored portion is not large, but we made a loop before exiting.

It was a lovely cave but you spend about 15 mins in there max. Cave is very small and entry is 20lei/adult which I thought was quite high. Tours are given every half an hour and you cannot enter without the guide. Guide does not speak English so that was quite a bummer. We walked around for 10 mins and he talked (super fast) for 5 mins then we had to leave.
The walk up to the cave is quite nice with the forest but hills are steep and slippery. They have a 4x4 truck to take you up (with an additional fee) but it was out of order when we went.

Close to the city of Rasnov - near the road connecting the city to Poiana Brasov you shall find the Valea Cetatii Cave.
There are sings on the road so you cannot miss the parking lot - typically you shall see plenty of cars there so it is hard to miss. Parking is free of charge and there is plenty of room.
From the parking lot - you have a bout 500-600 m to hike - up hill - through the forest on a paved road, so only if you have a condition could be an issue otherwise it is a mild climb (here an there a few 10 of meters that are steeper, but nothing special) - for those who don't feel like climbing at all , there is a "shuttle" service so for 5 Ron you will be transported by car a several hundred meters to the cave entrance.
At the entrance you will pay the visiting tax - 20 Ron / 4 Euro (roughly) and have cash, they don't have a POS in the middle of the woods - not yet at least.
After paying the ticket you have to wait for entering since you don't go alone, but only with a guide , once inside the guide will give you explanations - and if the group is quiet enough than it can be very interesting.
The cave is fairly new - in geological terms - only about 2 million years old - and it was not discovered until the mid 1950's when a flood opened up the entrance.
Given the fact that is a new cave the stalactites and stalagmites are still forming so don't wonder of the built path and try not to touch the walls - let nature build undisturbed.
The portion of the cave opened for visits is only a few hundred meters but it can be very interesting - the clay horse is a nice touch - but man made.
Also keep in mind that the Brasov philharmonics are playing in the cave so watch out for the event calendar maybe you are lucky and will be able to attend a cave concert.
Overall a great experience , when you are in the area it definitely worth a visit, so go and check it out by yourself.
PS: inside the cave is anywhere between 8 and 12 degrees C all the year long, so do yourself a favor and have a hoody or jersey with you... especially if you are visiting in the summer - going from 30+ to 10 C is definitely not very pleasant.

This cave is amazing and a must see if in the area. Our only let down was that the guide did not speak English - even if we'd had a written guide with info it would have been helpful but still glad we seen it.

The cave for me was an absolute highlight of the Romania trip. The walk up there is beautiful! It is pretty steep, so don't underestimate that (especially in snow), but that is 5-10 minutes. The cave is very pretty and impressive. It is a small route, but it is worth it. I had a private tour, because no one else showed up and Marius was my very funny and informative guide. I could ask everything. There is also a small bat species in the cave and that made it cooler, although they were still hibernating.

The hike to the cave is a bit steep but it was very beatifull, through the forest. The cave is small and you only spend about 20 min in it but it's a great experience, especially for kids. It's really cool when they turn off the lights and you can experience how the cave would feel like naturally.
Unfortunately our guide was only in romanian, i don't know if they have english guide

I've seen multiple reports that say there are bats, though we did not see any. We went midday - I guess you might be more likely to see them morning/evening. The inner chamber, which the bats would likely gravitate to because it's darker, is absolutely huge, so it may be tough to spot them.
