How long was the bus ride from downtown (city hall) to the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History? Or how long is the ferry?
Also, Trip adviser says says it is open from 11-4. Isn't it always open - an open air museum?
Please advise.
Thanks!
My memory is that it was about a 20 minute bus ride.
It is open air, but fenced and with specific entry and exit, therefore it is not open at all times, just outdoors.
Sorry don't know about the bus but the ferry is about 10 minutes.
This question seems to have already been answered but I would say bus approx 20 mins. The boat was not operating when I was there in January and I imagine opening hours also vary throughout the year. I visited late morning and it was very cold!
20-30 minutes from City Hall, bus all year and also a boat trip in summer season (from City Hall facing the sea). Boat will give you an extra sightseeing of the inner fjord. It is an open air museum but the area is fenced in.
hi! we took an Uber and it was around 20-30min maximum.
Hi,
We went there by walking (but it's a little bit to far) and we came to downtown by bus. I believe it took about 20 minutes.
I'm not sure if there is a ferry, but I believe the bus is the better option.
It's an open air museum but there is a grid/wall all around; also you need to pay for your ticket.
(Be aware at the time you go because of the sunlight)
hope you'll enjoy!! ;)
It is a 20 minute bus ride from the centre of Oslo to the Museum.
Regarding when it is open, I think this will change throughout the year but it was only open from 11-4 when I was there. Don't forget there are staff and it needs to be locked up overnight. It would be good if it was open later but perhaps they don't get enough visitors later on?
