Well here are some of the good features: the price is right, very cheap and the beds were super soft and it was quiet. I was in a ball tourney so this place was only 9 mins away from the diamonds. I think is all the good that I can find. I was on the second floor and the stairwell had strong urine smells and stains, my carpets had an musty old smell. The phone did not work but we had cell phones, wifi worked without issues as well as the fridge and microwave. I stayed 2 nights and they did not clean our room, front desk said we had a "do not disturb sign" on the door which was wrong. The shower pressure was bad and the tub filled up with water while I showered and I was kinda grossed out by the water backing up onto my feel. We were only given 2 green towels which were stained but we had no choice but to use them. Cleaners came knocking on our door at 8:45am on the day we were checking out and proceeded to keep knocking til we finally answered which was not cool at all. I did however laugh that this hotel had an hourly rate. I will return again if there is another ball tourney in the area but I will be sure to bring my Lysol spray, personal towels and maybe some flip flops for the shower. It is a bit run down but you get what you pay for, this hotel is extremely cheap and run down but I did love the softness of the beds which made up for all the bad.…
The Sundre Motor Inn has seen better days. It is just far enough from the busy main street to be insulated from the traffic noise. The adjacent restaurant is closed, and the lounge bar's major sellling point seems to be the VLT (gambling) machines. However, our kitchenette room was ok -- crockery, cutlery, sharp knife, toaster, 2-ring range, microwave and fridge. The heater worked remarkably quickly (it was all of +10C and raining) and soon heated the room. The bed was rather hard, and bath towels very small. While we expected the oilfield and related industry workers to be up early, what we didn't expect, and certainly didn't appreciate, was the housekeeping staff to be hoovering (vacuuming) the corridor and rooms adjacent to ours before 7.30 a.m.
We stayed there in March, on the weekend, driving up to Fort McMurry. The motel was very well kept, clean and neat. We can’t forget the warm atmosphere with awesome customer service when we checked in. We were also amazed how convenient it was. The motel has on site restaurant, lounge as well as a lot of VLT terminals. Everything was so meticulously arranged. We really appreciate that we didn’t have to go out under the cold wintery weather. The beds and linens were so comfortable that I didn’t have to worry about my wife’s aching back in the morning. It was a great choice of stay. We recommend Sundre Motor Inn 100%.
