Could not ask for finer people and accommodations. Food was good and plenty of it. Wish we hit the fish runs differently. Seems we were a bit too early this year. Expensive but Skeed tries to give you your money's worth. Will return someday.
My daughter, her husband and I spent a glorious 4 days with Sharon and Skeed at the Lodge. Can't tell you how fantastic it was. Great accommodation. The beds were soooo comfy with soft linens. The Lodge itself is magical with or without a roaring fire. Food top notch and home made. Our hosts were awesome as usual. A lot of fun stories, a boat trip and successful fishing. Went to a cool ghost town. Can't wait to go back.
My husband and I had been camping for a week in the Cariboo and were looking for something different. I began searching for a cabin to rent. Nothing seemed to fit our needs, until we called Northern Lights. Skeed offered us a large cabin. We did not know this lodge is a highly regarded fishing resort. We did not know that these strangers would quickly become friends and "family." From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, we were welcomed graciously. Every person on staff is pure gold! Oh... and speaking of gold, Skeed might have a few stories for you. We loved Northern Lights Lodge for the accommodations. We also fell in love with the people.
My husband and two children travel up as often as possible to enjoy an experience that would be memorable if they only went once. Going up multiple times shows how awesome this place is. My family can't stop talking about how wonderful Skeed and Sharon are. Food, fishing, stories and ambiance - all wonderful. If you want to know more about the fishing and Skeed as your fishing guide, watch Fly Fusion on TV or clips on youtube to see just how fantastic this area is.
This was my second visit. It is a fly fishing destination located on Quesnel Lake northeast of Vancouver. My first visit was for Rainbow and Bull Trout fishing behind spawning Sockeye Salmon. The fishing was very good even though the Sockeye run was sparse in 2016. My second visit was for river and small lake fishing with dry flys and float tubes or wading. This was another excellent week with very good fishing. Notable on each occasion was that most of the guests had returned many times. The rooms are somewhat Spartan but clean and comfortable. The hosts, Sharon and Skeed, are intent on making ones stay a pleasure. Plenty of food, drink, and ample humor round out the outstanding meals. If one listens carefully to Skeed's back woods yarns and tales, you can occasionally catch him in a full on truth. My friend and I were present when a lightning storm ignited over 100 separate forest fires in B.C. in early July of 2017. The nearest airport was shut down. One of the employees spent a day rearranging our flights from a different airport and loaned us her car to get there. This required another round trip by lodge personnel to fetch her car. What separates this lodge from other similar lodges is the quality of relationships that develop during routine and extraordinary situations. I can recommend Northern Lights Lodge enthusiastically and without reservation. …
