Great for a quick business trip due to great location, very friendly staff and great internet. They seem to be working hard on improving the hotel and I think it shows from the good service in this cosy hotel.

So one of my best mates was getting married the next day and I stayed over in leamington...2 of my pals booked already so I thought I may as well stay with them and keep it simple...walked through the front door of what looked like a pub only it looked better!...decked out with t.v screens on almost every wall, a decent selection of alcoholic beverages and a pool table was definitely a thumbs up straight away.Through a side door we walk upstairs to reception and check into our rooms...The owner seems helpful and friendly...the room itself was great with the en suite and other little luxuries that came with it...was well impressed with the fact that I could make myself a tea or a coffee without having to go downstairs...dont ever have room 8 as it's up 3/4 flights of stairs...it was a killer after a few bevvies...the place as a whole needs a few tweaks but the owner (Russell) told me he was having everything done from top to bottom again as he's new in management there...the place has potential and I hope it thrives better than it already does...if I ever go back I'll be sure to drop in 👍

Stayed in Leamington for after-work drinks and food, used booking.com and selected mainly on price. Entrance is via bar, when you are directed up stairs to reception. After enquiring the hotel staff said it had been taken over by Davenports in recent months. Undoubtedly needs a refresh of carpets throughout the hotel, in my opinion this hotel offers comfortable beds and good bed linen, while some aspects of the room (9) clearly needed an uplift, this seemed a cosmetic change. Overall, I found it adequate for a one-night stay and nowhere near as bad as I read on tripadvisor (which I read after booking, maybe foolishly). Breakfast (which wasn’t included) was both decent quality and well priced, served in the bar area. Non-residents came in for it while I was there, apparently based on reputation. This is a cheap option in a town where others can charge double. It is above a pub which closes late so expect some music intrusion- I didn’t mind but others might. I wish the new owners well.

Did this in a bit of a hurry one evening and did not check reviews beforehand - should have, many are so accurate. There are just a couple of things that pull it through saving it from a complete scathing, i.e. it IS in the process of being refurbished but is less than 'half way house' at the moment, one is met by scaffolding outside and mess inside. Reception (when it's open) is accessed via the bar then up some steep stairs, rooms are here and there's a second floor into which I was to be placed but with some mobility issues this was amended (one brownie point). The room was a game of two halves, soiled carpet, tired looking furniture, springs about to come through mattress down middle as well, no remote for TV (provided when asked) and the cous de gras no heating for two days. Yet the bathroom was pretty good (one may assume recently refurbed). It is quite close to the station and there's restaurants and takeaways around but it's not the more refined town centre. The downstairs / bar staff I thought were very good; fortunately so, as they are front-line with hotel reception being upstairs, helping arriving guests. In particular I should like to mention two individuals Brad and Kaz - I do hope the new owners appreciate you as much as the guests. Didn't sample breakfast so I can't comment, but it is included. Met and made my comments to a representative of the new owners on my way out, who was frenzied about a missing key and the arrival of the boiler repair man.
