First: even it's glamping (glamorous camping), don't bother with the high heals or fancy shoes when arriving to the camp - if you walk from the Skrova village, it takes c. 30 min by a non-asfalt road and through the rocks and cliff, and when taking the water taxi you might end up walking in the sea before reaching the beach. And please be wise and pack only the necessarities to a backpack and leave the trolleys and suitcases off.
Take a ferry from Svolvær to Skrova and take ahead notice about the timetables and the check-in time at the camp.
In Skrova there is only one building coloured yellowish seen from the dock, it's the Fotobrygge restaurant and that's where you meet the staff and pay for example the breakfast at the camp, hot tube (also at the camp), a shower (at the village) and a water-taxi ride from the village to the camp.
At the camp there is fresh water to drink but if you want something to eat (other than breakfast, which is served there) or something else to drink, take it with you. Take also a powerbank with you if you want to recharge your phone. And everything you take to the camp you also take with you when leaving the camp.
The campsite is so beautiful, it's between two rockcliffs, whitesand beaches on both sides of the meadow where the camp is based. There are about ten big tents and a biggest one is the main tent where they serve breakfast. There are tables out the main tent too. The old fashioned hot tube is located near the main tent and is heated with wood and it is an amazing experince to sit in the hot water and being inside a great view with mountains and sea. There is a toilet at the camp.
We also swimmed in the Norwegian Sea. It was great! The water was chilly but we had luck with the weather: it was sunny and warm. We stayed for two nights and it only rained the morning we were leaving. So have your sunscreen and raincoats with you. And good footwear to walk in the rocks. And if you want to climb up to the 281-meter-high Skrovafjellet, also take with you the clothing to fit fysical excercise. There is some hiking to do anyway.
We had very comfortable beds in our tent. There were three of us and we had one double bed and one single bed. The sheets were clean and the beds were nicely made. We had warm eiderdowns and blankets to keep us nice and warm while sleeping. At the night time it gets a bit moist inside the tent but we slept like babies because of the fresh air. Tents are open to the ground in the outlines of the tent, but there is some sort of underlay and on that there are rugs. The tent was very nice experience!
This was a great stay. The timetables with the watertaxi in Skrova and the ferry between Skrova and Svolvær doesn't always fit together, but the Fotobrygge-restaurant is nice place to hang out.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, I stayed in touch with Monica before arrival too. Lara at the camp was just amazing and made us feel very welcomed and helped us out with everything. We loved it here and it was worth the "trouble" to get there. Lofoten really took us in.
