Upon arriving and walking past a kitchen vent that was literally dripping with grease all over the street I had a bad feeling about this place. My girlfriend and myself had a Groupon deal, starter, main and wine. When asking what wine was included, we got the classic "red or white", when pressed on "red or white what?" We got "errrm medium". Ok, I'll pass. Onto the food, started with the fried haggis, which managed to be both cold in the middle and scorchingly greasy on the outside. Not a great start, so I then had the grilled halloumi burger and chips. The chips where strangely undercooked yet soaked in grease, and the halloumi was a colour I had never seen halloumi be before and dripping with oil. My stomach was awful after this sub 'spoons offering. Won't be going back again.
Yet another Groupon Con. Advertised as a four star hotel. We didn't realise it was on a caravan park We arrived on Friday at 7pm to discover we are not dining in the restaurant but in the pub bar with the dogs. We were seated under the speakers so we couldn't hear ourselves speak. The menu was just ordinary cheap pub grub at very inflated prices. We asked for our salad on both the starter and main with no dressing but alas on both courses the dressing was on. the steaks were really poor quality, one meal was barely touched. To be fair the two young ladies that served us were both professional and polite. We were offered a replacement of one steak but it was too late. we had had enough. We could have a had a far better meal at any run of the mill chain pub at a third of the price. £16.95 for a 8oz rump steak. we felt ripped off. lesson learned. We'll NEVER return or book a Groupon ever again…
All good, but no wi fi as advertised in room 6. Had to go to the lobby. Room comfy. Breakfast good. Plenty of car parking. Kettle in the room plus tea/ coffee, biscuits. Staff very friendly. Good check in and out times
We had lunch here yesterday and the food and service were excellent! We shared bread, olives and dips to start. I had the pulled pork burger which came with slaw and lovely chunky chips. I have to say it was a very generous portion! My husband had four cheese ravioli and thoroughly enjoyed it. They serve very well kept real ales, and there is a good selection on the wine list. We had a Groupon voucher which made it amazing value.
We just returned from 4 nights here with our dog. From start to finish we felt welcomed. The room was large and warm with a lovely view. Breakfast was fantastic with a great choice ... evening meals were to die for .. the choices were difficult but everything we had was top notch! The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful ..I would highly recommend and definitely return.
