This small campsite was open over the Easter break, on the way to Gunlom. It’s about 13km off the bitumen, and accessible by 2WD. Also suitable for campervans. This was a home base for us to do Yirmikmik Walks, another 10km drive away. The walks took you to Boulder Falls and Motorcar Falls, which was a solid hour walk. This is a Bush campsite, drop toilet, no water. It was peaceful and small. Camp fee was $5 per night, payable via honesty box. There is a creek a short walk away but we didn’t really hike along it with the children. The kids really enjoyed the open area and it was nice to have a bit of grass at this time of year.
Beautiful bushlands campground with eco toilet (no water). We were going to stay at Gunlom Falls campgrounds, but the road was so corrugated that we pulled into this campground. Gorgeous views towards a rocky outcrop and hills and camping under scattered gum trees.
