We stay at Happy Acres one to three times per year, it's one of our favorites. Hard-working owners are great, prices are reasonable, it's right off the highway, and the seasonals welcome transients. The HUGE pull-through sites' water/electric/sewer hookups are modern and well-kept. The water is odor-free and water pressure is good to very good. internet so-so...we just hotspot from our cellphones. A lot of over-the-air TV stations. The pool is kind of small, but we LOVE it during the week when hardly anyone uses it. It's heated and crystal clear clean. We bring our 5th wheel here because we fish the Coldwater Lake chain 10 miles north of Angola, visit the wineries in the area, fish in the Trine State Recreation Area and Marsh Lake, go to the big car auction shows and the Auburn/Duesenburg/Cord museum and Antique Car Museum 20 minutes south, and have even attended concerts at the War Memorial Arena in Fort Wayne. Anyway....Happy Acres is great. There's another campground to the west, but they've gotten so fussy in recent years and it's so difficult to navigate with a 33-foot trailer, we've given up.…
Tried to books a camp site for two nights. They said their policy is 2 adults and up to 3 kids, I told them I woudln't be camping with kids only 4 adults in one unit. I was told there would be a $10 additional charge for the adults. When I ask why they said adults use more toilet paper ,water and sewage. I said ok and preceeded to make the reservation when she said "I must not camp very much or I would know that this is a common policy," I told her, I camp all the time and most places let me have up to 5 PEOPLE, she told me I should go camp somewhere else she didn't need my attitude and hung up.
Beautiful, large pull thru for travelers. 50amp, picnic table, fresh stone parking spot that can handle the big units. Very nice, clean pool with lots of chairs. Bathrooms are kept spotless with nice showers. Nice playground for kids, as well as sandbox and small kids basketball court. Full size court for the big kids with horseshoe pits. Nice camp store & friendly, helpful owners. Very reasonable rates for a spacious camp site. The seasonal campers here are very friendly & welcoming. Would recommend this family owned campground to anyone in the area.
What a great time here will be back, pool very nice, bathrooms were very clean very friendly place, nice playground for the younger kids and basketball court and we did some fishing had a great time, nice walking trails, great golf cart trails
We arrived at the campground and were getting set up when i kept getting asked what is really going on here and did you buy this camper of what. Then once were were almost done setting up they owner stated that he will let this slide tonight but you have to fige something else out bc there is alot of money here and i cant have anything go missing. He then continued to say look around you there is alot of money here. We dont have a 150,000 dollar camper so we were not good enough to be there. our camper is older but it is a camper. The owner did all this infront of my 10 year old son. who didnt need to hear that his family wasnt good enough to be there bc we r not wealthy. DONT STAY AT THIS A\CAMPGROUND THEY WILL BE LITTE YOU BADLY.
