This Hotel opened Oct. 3 this year. The hotel is a new design for Fairfield Inns. Way different than the older FAIRFIELDS. It appears that Marriott has questioned Everything that they have done in the past. Even light switches are different than in every other Marriott. We usually stay in the higher end Marriotts, but this one felt like it was high end at a much lower price.
Newly renovated! Need I say more?!... I like "new"-- and newly renovated means usually that it is clean and the amenities and room decor are up to date. The hotel too was easily accessible to/from I-41 (thoroughfare to Milwaukee and Chicago). I noticed too that the windows were extra sound proofed (or so it seemed) as I didn't hear highway noise. They had a nice complimentary breakfast buffet and a great fitness center. But the main thing as with any of my reviews (I only take time to review the cleanest and nicest of hotel rooms that I stay in. I don't need "fancy" when traveling to a destination, but I demand cleanliness and a fairly updated room decor & fixtures). This hotel checked those boxes and more! I will definitely stay here again when traveling through again on way up to the Wisconsin Northwoods!…
I’m writing this review at 3am because the bed is so hard I cannot sleep. This is likely because they for some reason have skipped having box springs. Something I see in Japan and “trendy” nyc hotels... but never at a Marriott property. The door has an air gap in the bottom as large as I have ever seen. I can slide my phone easily out of the room or a bar of soap. This is very bad for noise. But worse. I can take a photo from the hallway into the room. Has Marriott forgotten the Famous sports anchor , peeper incident at one of its hotels? You are visible in your room if you put an iPhone on the floor take a picture. Third the deadbolt is broken does not work. Pretty bad for a thirteen day old hotel. Of course the lock itself is malformed and missing a screw. Clearly they slapped together the hotel and didn’t check that every lock worked. Or it broke inside of two weeks... either way, not good. I want the deadbolt to lock. Otherwise anyone with a master or duplicate keycard could open the room. The windows are not soundproof and the hotel is yards away from the freeway.…
Hotel is newly opened and is absolutely perfect. It's easily the best hotel of its type near the Fox River Mall. Super comfy beds. Quiet rooms. Pretty decor. Great breakfast--much better than expected for an "included" hotel breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff.
