After first night called that the bed sagged, service arrive said frame was broken, did nothing to fix. after second night called again, service said mattress broken, would order a new one. Doesn't help us, couldn't provide a different mattress or a different unit. No A/C, depends who you rent from, knew it advance, but it was hot in the mountains in July, my mistake. Told walk to lift is 1/4 mile, ok going but returning that is 1/4 mile with a lot of elevation gain.
Got in at 9 pm....very confusing check-in at an automated kiosk. Could not find parking or room for about an hour. No pin code on reservation so could not get in room. Room itself seemed shabby and had super soft, uncomfortable beds. Only giving this place two stars because of beautiful mountain environs but room experience itself was very poor!!!!
Mice in our privately owned but rented out by NS reservations. We paid $400 - $600 per night for lodging that had mice and feces in the beds, counters, floors and counters. We were given a full refund but that is it. NS booked our other 2 nights at the Welk which is not owned by NS but on the property. NS did not comp us for ANYTHING. In fact they over charged us by $300 for the Welk. If I hadn't asked the clerk at the Welk I would have never known. It took my weeks to receive my refund. Never again will I stay here.
From the start, almost everything is this condo didn't work. We made 5 different service calls, and finally gave up (due to how inconvenient it had become)! Don't get me wrong, the repair people were excellent. The owners of this unit, however, should be forced to pull their unit from the Northstar program. Firstly, the owners claimed all but one closet as an "owners" closet, and they were locked. So, we were left with a few hangers for a one week stay. The list of non-working items is very long, but the worst was the refrigerator which spoiled all of our food! Finally, the comforter on the bed was filthy -- and by this, I mean, it looked like some things involving bodily fluids happened on it. YUK! We called to make them remove it.
Strongly DO NOT Recommend: 1. Ridiculous snow clearing in the middle of the night 2. Nothing open in Village past 5pm if not high season Details: While the reservation and check-in process was very good, and the room was adequate for a one-night stay, we would never return here. The reason is the middle-of-the-night "snow clearing" just outside of our door. It started at 4:15 am and did not stop until after 5:30am. There was only a dusting of snow and certainly no need for this. The snowcat was simply moving snow from one snow pack to another - a snow pack that was already existing the day we arrived and NOT growing with any snowfall occurring. There was no safety issue, no snow accumulation to clear. Simply the repeated scream of reverse beeps for almost 2 hours. I did call the front desk during the incident, where the front desk staff could clearly hear what was happening. After reading the online reviews, it's clear she gets this call every night by mortified, shocked and angry guests who have paid good money to stay at the village, only to be subjected to this ridiculous situation. We were not able to get to the front desk to see Shannon, the manager, by 5pm, so had to let it go. I also see specials for room rates, and feel a bit gypped that I paid full whack. The location is great, but if you plan to eat dinner past 5pm, forget it. There's a deli and the wine shop open - that's it. We took the gondola up to the Ritz Carlton and dropped an obscene amount of money on a mediocre meal. (the hotel is beyond gorgeous, though!).…
